The Pulse Of Radio reports: For the 13th year in a row, KISS has been passed up for inclusion into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Had they been inducted in 1999, the year they were first eligible, they would have entered with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Dusty Springfield, and Curtis Mayfield, among others. That year, instead of KISS joining those legends in the Hall, the late Del Shannon was inducted — an artist, whose influence and fan-base simply can't be compared to the New York rockers. Over the years, KISS has watched such '70s peers as AEROSMITH, the RAMONES, AC/DC, ZZ TOP, the SEX PISTOLS, the STOOGES, and Alice Cooper enter before them.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley spoke about once again being shut out of the Rock Hall, with Simmons telling Rolling Stone: "It's become a joke. We've been thinking about it and the answer is simply, 'We'll just buy it and fire everybody.' In all seriousness for the fans, for something to be called Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is such an insult to MADONNA, BLONDIE. . . Who the fuck knows what other disco act is in there? It's an insult to them because they don't get to be in the 'Dance Hall Of Fame', because that's what they do. They're legitimate dance, disco artists. They don't belong in rock and roll."

Paul Stanley went on to add: "The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has reached a point where they're really scrounging and scratching to find someone left that they consider viable. With all due respect, when you get to Patti Smith, you're about two steps away from Pete Seeger."

Gene Simmons told The Pulse Of Radio that awards hold little allure for him, since it's the fans that ultimately decide who stays around and who doesn't: "Our awards are under the 'K' section in record stores. Every time somebody goes out and plunks down their hard-earned money — either for a KISS ticket or for an album — that's the award, and reward."

Paul Stanley told The Pulse Of Radio that he looks at the big picture when considering KISS' career. "When you think of Muhammad Ali, you think of him as the champ," he said. "You don't think of the times he lost — and he did. I'd rather think of us in those terms. Nobody stays on top all the time, but who's been champ longest?"

KISS has just wrapped production on their 20th album, "Monster". No release date has been announced.

They'll next perform on Friday (March 30) in New Orleans at the NCAA Big Dance at Woldenburg Riverfront Park.

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash spoke to Loudwire about the band's upcoming induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

The 27th annual ceremony will be held on April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio, home to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum. Also scheduled to be inducted are RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, BEASTIE BOYS, THE SMALL FACES/FACES, Donovan and Laura Nyro. Freddie King well enter the Hall Of Fame as an Early Influence, while the late producer and TV host Don Kirshner will receive the Ahmet Ertegun (nonperformer) Award and producers Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns will receive the Award For Musical Excellence.

The ceremony will be taped for broadcast by HBO, which plans to air it in early May.

Slash told Loudwire, "I would love to play. It's just, one of those things where I know that it's not going to happen, so… I just did an interview and said, 'I don't think we're playing.' [Laughs]. I mean I think it would be cool to play, but very early on when the whole thing came up, it became apparent that it wasn't going to happen — and you know, that doesn't surprise me. We've been at odds for… well, not at odds, but we just haven't had any sort of communication in a long time so… that's basically it. That's all I can tell you."

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan told RollingStone.com that there has been "no communication" about the original members of the band performing together when the group is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Asked if he knew what was going to happen at the ceremony, McKagan answered, "I don't. I know I'm going to go. I can't, at all, speak for anybody else. And won't. I'll be there with bells on." But he added, "There's been no communication about anyone playing. There was probably a day in the mid-1990s where I would have tried to gather the troops, but I'm just not that guy anymore. It's too frustrating to change anyone else . . . I'm not even sure I'd want to change how anyone else sees a situation."

On whether he hoped that the original lineup would perform together at the event, McKagan said, "I think it would be killer. Do I hope to? That's a tricky question. It would be awesome. You have those day dreams like, 'We'll go up and play 'Nightrain' and 'Brownstone' and throw down the microphone and drop off! That'll be killer!' But I doubt that'll happen."

McKagan, singer Axl Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, and drummer Steven Adler will all be inducted into the Hall, along with later members, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and drummer Matt Sorum.

In addition, while docked at the private secured Labadee resort — situated on the north coast of Hispaniola which averages a high of 84.9 degrees in January — passengers can enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, parasailing and wave runners at the resort's stunning beaches, surrounded by beautiful mountain slopes and exotic foliage. The Liberty of the Seas from Royal Caribbean is one of the biggest, fastest and most luxurious passenger vessels in service today; it is served by a crew of 1300 on 18 decks.

The Native American Heritage Association has been working on reservations in South Dakota for more than 18 years and is a 4-star charity with CharityNavigator.org for seven consecutive years. Native American Heritage Association tractor trailers are on the road daily with supplies to the various far flung communities and 94% of the organizations total revenue goes towards program services which provide basic life necessities, including fuel assistance and medical transportation to 90,000 people. Many of these residents face an 80% rate of unemployment; 70% don't have transportation and many of those who do, don't have the means to purchase gas. These Lakota Sioux live in abandoned school buses, shacks or government housing with no insulation, some live without indoor plumbing, in homes with dirt floors, no beds or furniture.

ANTHRAX's video for the song "The Devil You Know" can be seen below. The clip contains clips of all the band highlights of last year.

"The Devil You Know" comes off ANTHRAX's latest album, "Worship Music", which sold 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous studio CD, 2003's "We've Come For You All", opened with just under 10,000 units to debut at No. 122.

The CD cover artwork for "Worship Music" was handled by renowned comic book artist Alex Ross, who has worked with Marvel Comics and DC Comics and is known for his "Marvels", "Kingdom Come", and "Astro City" illustrations. Ross also did the original artwork for ANTHRAX's "We've Come For You All" and "Music Of Mass Destruction" albums.

"Worship Music" was produced by ANTHRAX, Rob Caggiano and Jay Ruston and recorded over a four-year period at studios in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Singer Joey Belladonna's return to the band prompted some of the songs originally recorded with previous singer Dan Nelson to be re-crafted with fresh lyrics or tweaked to better suit his overall vibe and energy. Some of the songs were completely replaced with brand-new songs and, of course, all have Belladonna's inimitable vocal stamp on them.

ANTHRAX recently completed the second leg of its U.S. tour with TESTAMENT and DEATH ANGEL.

Released in May 2009, "Play My Game", the first solo album from Owens, landed at position No. 66 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The CD was released via SPV/Steamhammer. The offering consists of around a dozen brand-new tracks that Owens composed himself or together with renowned friends, such as Bob Kulick, Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA), Mike Callahan (ex-EARSHOT) and John Comprix (BEYOND FEAR, RINGWORM).

Owens is without doubt among the most important metal vocalists of the past ten years. When he succeeded Rob Halford, joining JUDAS PRIEST in May 1996, the press rubbed their eyes, surprised as well as impressed: Owens had previously been a fairly unknown quantity to international music journalists and only a few new of him from the band WINTERS BANE, but he recorded his first PRIEST album, the Grammy-nominated "Jugulator" (1997) with more aplomb than even insiders had expected. Following successful tours with the British metal legends, the strong studio recording "Demolition" (2001), and the live recordings, "Meltdown - 98 Live" (1998) and "Live In London" (2003), and the movie "Rockstar" that was loosely based on Tim's experience with JUDAS PRIEST, Halford's return put an end to Owens' stint with JUDAS PRIEST. More or less immediately, he was enlisted by Jon Schaffer to team up with ICED EARTH and sang on "The Glorious Burden" in spring 2004. Three years later, Owens followed suit with the ICED EARTH album "Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Pt. I)", which succeeded the self-titled highly praised debut by his own band BEYOND FEAR. Spring 2008 saw Owens move on to join one of the world's best guitar players Yngwie Malmsteen, debuting with a sensational vocal performance on "Perpetual Flame".

David Isberg, the Swedish musician best known for having founded the seminal Swedish progressive metal band OPETH, is recovering at a Stockholm-area hospital after he was assaulted while walking home the night of March 13. David, 37, wrote on his Facebook page on March 24, "For everyone still wondering, I was 12 days ago beaten real badly. [The] only thing I was trying to do was walk home frome my work. [I am] now at [a] hospital. Enough said."

The police believe that the assault was linked to a brawl involving several individuals — not including Isberg — that started on a bus that left central Stockholm in the early morning hours of March 14.

One of David's alleged assailants, a 23-year-old man, was arrested and is being charged with attempted manslaughter.
sberg, who also goes by the name DJ Dake, has had a successful DJ career with independent and electronic music, often influenced by the so-called "Madchester" scene. He has also DJed old-school heavy, thrash, speed and death metal from the '80s at Club Rocks in Stockholm; "Nuit Halloween" in Paris, France; and on various rock cruises on the Baltic Sea.
Tonight's (Tuesday, March 27) episode of CBS-TV's "NCIS: Los Angeles" will feature the song "God Bless You" from Los Angeles theatrical rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST / 8 p.m. CST on CBS. Check your local listings for more details.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES' latest EP, "Rebels", was released on December 13, exclusively through iTunes. The EP contains "Coffin", a new original track; a cover version of Billy Idol's '80s anthem "Rebel Yell", which BLACK VEIL BRIDES has been performing live; and a cover of KISS' "Unholy", featuring a guest guitar solo by Zakk Wylde. The EP, which boasts artwork by longtime BLACK VEIL BRIDES artist Richard Villa, also includes the six-minute director's cut of BLACK VEIL BRIDES' latest video, "Rebel Love Song", which hasn't been seen anywhere until now.
STONE SOUR has entered Sound Farm Studios just outside of their native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE, STAIND) to begin recording its fourth album for a fall release via Roadrunner Records.

"This album will be another progression for the band," stated STONE SOUR guitarist Josh Rand. "Musically, we have always challenged one another to push things to our limits, and this record is no exception." Rand also shared some details about the album's lyrical and storytelling narrative, saying, "Lyrically, the album follows one character to that complex moment in his life, when he finally has to decide which path to take. It's a spiritual and moral power play for control of what this man will be for the rest of his life. Each song will tell the story from different sides of the character's personality, with the listener ultimately deciding how the story ends."

STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor previously stated about the band's follow-up to 2010's "Audio Secrecy", "I am looking forward to basically becoming a mad scientist in the studio and creating an album that no one wants us to make. I pretty much got permission to do whatever I wanted, which means that I'm essentially going against the grain in an age where people are fucking trying to simply put out singles. We're looking to do a double concept album and really make it destructive."

He added, "Picture [PINK FLOYD's] 'The Wall' meets [ALICE IN CHAINS'] 'Dirt' on steroids, and that will give you a taste of what I'm shooting for right now. The stuff we have right now is nuclear. It's pretty much going to go all the way. It's dark as shit. There's so much balls out rock on it as well as some good headpunchers and some really cool fucking dark pieces. I'm really excited about it."

Taylor — who is also the frontman for SLIPKNOT — said about the storyline for the next STONE SOUR record, "It's basically the story of a man who's trying to figure it out. He can't figure out if he's happier when he's miserable, or if he's miserable about not being happy. It's almost like a mid-life crisis in a way. He's young enough that he knows that there's still a lot of life to live, but he's old enough to realize that he can't be hung up on the romance of teenage depression and youthful aggression."

EMI Label Services/Caroline distribution has announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Martha's Music to release the highly anticipated album from THE SMASHING PUMPKINS entitled "Oceania" on June 19. The agreement covers the world excluding Canada, Brazil and Australia.

Produced by THE SMASHING PUMPKINS' frontman Billy Corgan, "Oceania" is an intense and dynamic offering that will appeal to new and existing fans of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS alike. "Oceania", the band's seventh studio record, is "an album within an album," part of their 44-song work-in-progress "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope".

Peter Katsis, manager of SMASHING PUMPKINS for Prospect Park, stated: "THE SMASHING PUMPKINS created 'Oceania' as an album experience, and it is intended for the process of the release to follow a path of inclusion, so that best efforts are made for all the fans hear it at the same time as press or radio. We were excited to find partners in EMI Label Services that were equally passionate about the plan for the album release as well as being huge fans of the PUMPKINS."

EMI's relationship with THE SMASHING PUMPKINS dates back more than 20 years, to the release of "Gish" in 1991. That album was reissued this past November along with 1993's "Siamese Dream".

Said Mike Harris, EVP/GM EMI Label Services/Caroline distribution: "We are thrilled to extend the long-term partnership between THE SMASHING PUMPKINS and EMI with the release of 'Oceania'. Everybody at EMI Label Services is looking forward to working closely with Billy and the band to help them deliver their vision and their music to fans around the world."

After suffering from voice problems for a few months, singer Philip "Philly" Byrne of Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB underwent an operation to have a problem with his vocal cords corrected. According to his bandmates, "[Philly is] now on the mend, but won't be able to join the band onstage at their festival show at Headbanging Enschede next weekend. Joe [McGuigan; bass, vocals] will step in and fill vocal duties for the gig while Philly recuperates. We hope you'll join us in wishing him a speedy recovery, and that his penis grows back."

GAMA BOMB decided to break the mold in 2009 when it released its new album, "Tales From The Grave In Space", online as a free download. Following many requests from fans for a physical release, "Tales From The Grave In Space" was made available on CD and vinyl in January 2010.

"Tales From The Grave In Space" was released on limited-edition vinyl in black (only 700 made) and ultra-limited edition green (only 300 made), as well as on CD. The limited edition CD version of the album also comes with an exclusive bonus EP, titled "Half Cut", which includes five brand new, extra tracks.

After years of controversy, "Fix: The Ministry Movie" will be released on April 10. Raw and uncompromising, "Fix" is the story of the rock band MINISTRY — hard living in the fastest lane, told for every fan, or merely the morbidly curious, whomsoever wished that just for a few nights they might have an all access pass into the belly of the rock beast — a chance to go behind that locked door at the back of the bus, and hang out one-on-one with whatever's lurking there.

Embedded during MINISTRY's entire "Sphinctour" in 1996, director Doug Freel and a single camera captured the band poised to take on popular music's title of "Next big coolest, hardest, most bad-ass, thing," but Al Jourgensen's legendary drug abuse had him teetering at the very edge of insanity, all the while still at the helm and steering both the MINISTRY ship, and his own physical and mental health, straight into the rocks.

What started as a commitment of filming for a few days turned into the shooting of fifty-two successive shows in thirteen different countries. Within the first few minutes of the finished piece, we see why the filmmakers felt compelled to stay on the tour as we too are drawn into the mayhem and the anarchic drama of life on the road with MINISTRY. It's like watching a car wreck in slow motion... It's hard to look away.

Trent Reznor (NINE INCH NAILS), Ogre Nivek (SKINNY PUPPY), Dave Navarro (JANE'S ADDICTION), and even Lemmy (MOTÖRHEAD), also offer their own cautionary and colorful perspectives in "Fix" — on the devastating effects of the illicit and illegal behaviors that money, easy sex, and fame brought them all in the 1990's music world

Packaged along with the DVD will be a companion soundtrack from former MINISTRY member Paul Barker entitled "Fix This". The album features 11 new tracks by Paul along with Taylor Momsen (THE PRETTY RECKLESS), Nivek Ogre, Chris Connelley, Alexis S.F., USSA and Jeffrey Kinart.

You can pre-order the Ultimate Bundle now featuring the DVD, CD, t-shirt and poster here. Those buying the DVD will get the CD in the package, but you can also get the digital album on April 3.

The first track, "reSpite", featuring Nivek Ogre was just put up for sale on the movie web site... and rumor has it there will be more songs coming soon.

Frontiers Records will release HARDLINE's new studio album, "Danger Zone", on May 18 in Europe and May 22 in North America.

Following the release of "Leaving The End Open", HARDLINE's mastermind and singer Johnny Gioeli did not realistically feel that another HARDLINE album would have seen the light of day sometime soon. It was again thanks to the insistence of Frontiers Records president Serafino Perugino that the concept came about once again "I love surprises and this was certainly one of them," says Gioeli. "Each time I decide to close the door on HARDLINE, I get the itch to continue."

Fate wanted that when Perugino sent Gioeli some song demos written by Alessandro Del Vecchio (an Italian musician and producer know for his work with EDGE OF FOREVER and EDEN'S CURSE but also with AXE, Mitch Malloy, Bobby Kimball and several other top musicians and bands), the singer became excited once again and wanted to give it another go.

"Ale is one talented brotha..." says Johnny. "He plays, writes, sings, engineers, produces and mixes... He's like the golden goose handed to me. More than all the talent he has, he is an example of a great human in many many ways. I look forward to making more music with Ale. And it doesn't hurt that he's Italian, too!"

Alessandro Del Vecchio says: "I feel humbled but at the same time excited as never before. I grew up with 'Double Eclipse', which I bought when I was 13, so it's really a combination of feelings. The whole thing started so naturally that I feel like me and Johnny have been knowing each other for years. Our goal was to match the superb quality of that milestone of a debut and we worked hard to get to it, but we also wanted this record to be a shift and the truthful mirror of this 'new' life for HARDLINE." And, according to Gioeli, "I think all of the HARDLINE records have a magic about them... this one certainly holds a more commercial pop sound to its heartbeat. I love it."

So now HARDLINE have been completed with a Europe-based lineup featuring Francesco Jovino (U.D.O.), Thorsten Koehne (CODE OF PERFECTION, EDEN'S CURSE) and Anna Portalupi (MITCH MALLOY).

"I would absolutely LOVE to tour with these guys. I think the fans would be quite surprised when they hear this band....like a good solid kick in the teeth" concludes Gioeli and certainly discussions are ongoing to have finally HARDLINE play some dates around Europe in support of this exciting new release.

SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn and his wife welcomed a son on March 23. No further details are currently available.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor has been ambivalent about working on new SLIPKNOT material following the death in May 2010 of the group's bassist, Paul Gray, although percussionist Shawn Crahan and drummer Joey Jordison have been much more confident about the band recording again.

SLIPKNOT completed a European festival run last summer, which marked the band's first live gigs since Gray's passing.

SLIPKNOT's last record, "All Hope Is Gone", was released in 2008.

The band will take part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival this summer.

Jo Schüftan of Horns Up Rocks! conducted an interview with vocalist Dez Fafara of California metallers DEVILDRIVER before the band's March 21 concert at the Gramercy Theater in New York City. You can now watch the chat below.

On what caused DEVILDRIVER's split with longtime label Roadrunner Records:

Dez: "A lot of things, I think — if you talk to them or you talk to us. But I think that the main thing is, yeah, we're label shopping. So [at] tonight's [show in] New York City, at least ten labels are here right now [to check us out] — I just talked to a bunch of them — and it's good to see them coming out for us. I think it shows what we've done in the past. Roadrunner has been my home since '96 [when Dez was still a member of COAL CHAMBER. — Ed.]. We'll really see what happens. For us, it's not about where to go for the money or any of that right now, it's where do we go for the passion? We're all remaining on good terms [with Roadrunner], so that's a good thing, and we're just moving forward."

On the songwriting process for DEVILDRIVER's next album:

Dez: "[The other guys in the band] played me three songs. Two of them, there's maybe bits of. You know, until you find the sound, you don't really go for it. But the other night in Texas, at South By Southwest, they jammed me one that they had recorded that I think is absolutely astounding — reminiscent of our first three records, but with a whole another take on DEVILDRIVER.

"What we do is we try to make every record different without going too much outside of ourselves, so we can remain who we are, really. And I think they touched on a really cool sound with this one tune that I heard. We all started writing lyrics to it and everything right away. We've kind of got a little chorus for it already that I think is amazing. So we'll see what happens.

"It's gonna be a very critical record for us.

"We've always taken time writing. Like, if we put out a record every two years, it was because we had the music, it was demoed and we were ready to go in. This one, I wanna make sure that we're ready. And I think the rest of the band does, too."

DEVILDRIVER bassist Aaron "Bubble" Patrick was released from the hospital on March 21 after receiving treatment for Streptococcus pneumonia, an inflammation and swelling of the lung, caused by an infection with the bacteria.

Patrick is sitting out DEVILDRIVER's Metal Alliance Tour, which kicked off on March 15 at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. Filling in for him is Aaron's former BURY YOUR DEAD bandmate Chris Towning.

Patrick joined DEVILDRIVER as the replacement for Jonathan Miller, who quit the band in March 2011, calling it "the most difficult decision of my life" but "something that I needed to do for myself."

After being dormant for nearly ten years, Italian maniacs ANTROPOFAGUS have awaken! They make their brutal return to the death metal scene with their new full-length CD, "Architecture Of Lust". The effort will be released on April 17 through Comatose Music.

"This album is like a beast closed in a cage for so much time. Finally it can be unleashed with its majestic power. The skills of the most modern brutal metal meets perfectly classic death metal: it's a perfect balance," says Francesco "Meatgrinder", ANTROPOFAGUS' guitar player.

The lyrics on "Architecture Of Lust" are inspired by the deranged works of Clive Barker and thrive with gore and sickness.

"This is upsetting and sick… a trip without return," adds ANTROPOFAGUS singer Tya. "We wanted to keep alive our style, but at the same time trying a way a little bit more 'elegant' compared to the past."

Francesco and Tya are accompanied on the new ANTROPOFAGUS album by bass player Jacopo (NERVE) and drummer Davide "Brutal Dave" Billia (PUTRIDITY, SEPTYCAL GORGE).

"Francesco and I are lucky to play with these top players," says Tya. "Jacopo studied, arranged and recorded nine songs in just two weeks. He's a war machine! Davide is fast and powerful."

Musically, ANTROPOFAGUS' approach has evolved into a more technical style while sustaining a classic death metal presence with frantic riffing and supreme drumming.

"This album is so great also because of the talent of Jacopo and Davide, two great people and amazing musicians that complement the album and the line-up", says Francesco.

"Architecture Of Lust" represents the start of the co-operation between ANTROPOFAGUS and the well-known American label Comatose Music.

"We got a lot of offers, but it was natural to us to choose Steve Green and his label," states Francesco. "We established a very good relationship. He's like a brother for us. Steve has a big music skill and a sincere passion drives him. We are honored and excited to work with him."

"I am really pleased to be working with such a talented band," adds Steve Green, Comatose Music owner. "I remember first hearing these guys back around 2000 when their debut CD, 'No Waste of Flesh', was released and was amazed with their level of brutality. So when they approached me with the news that ANTROPOFAGUS reformed and was working on a new album, I knew I had to sign these guys to Comatose Music. Their new album, 'Architecture Of Lust', is pure skill!"

"Architecture Of Lust" track listing:

01. Architecture of Lust
02. Sanguinis Bestiae Solium
03. Demise of the Carnal Principle
04. The Lament Configuration
05. Exposition of Deformities
06. Eternity to Devour
07. Sadistic Illusive Puritanism
08. Blessing Upon My Redemption
09. Det Helgerån Av Häxor (outro)

Indie Recordings has announced the signing of Oslo, Norway-based progressive/extreme metallers THE FALLEN DIVINE. The band's debut album, "The Binding Cycle", was recorded with Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND guitarist) at his Sonic Train studios in Varberg, Sweden and mixed by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE).

According to a press release, THE FALLEN DIVINE's music "contains strong progressive elements, as well as influences from a wide spectrum of genres such as death metal, black metal, symphonic metal, folk music and other genres. . . It's difficult to categorize their sound, but descriptions like 'melodic,' 'dynamic' and 'complex' are often used."

"The Binding Cycle" contains eight musically strong songs and is a considerable step forward from the group's previous EP, "The Eternal Past And Future", which was released in 2010.

Commented Swanö: "[This is] another example that proves that Scandinavia rule the progressive death metal scene. Dynamic and bombastic, just the way I like it. These guys have a bright future ahead!"

THE FALLEN DIVINE is:

Magnus Kvist (Vocals/Keyboards)
Magnus Haugo (Guitar)
Markus Charras (Guitar)
Christoffer Wig (Bass)
Alex Stebbing (Drums)

French metallers KLONE have entered Studio des Résistants with producer Franck Hueso (HACRIDE, DEATHSPELL OMEGA) to begin recording the follow-up to their critically acclaimed fourth album, 2010's "Black Days". The as-yet-untitled new CD will feature ten new songs and is tentatively scheduled for release in September.

Commented KLONE guitarist Guillaume Bernard: "It was a real challenge for us to compose a new album better than 'Black Days', but now it's done and we're very proud of it. We found out that there are still different ways where we can innovate!"

In other news, KLONE recently released a three-track EP entitled "The Eye Of Needle", which can be downloaded for free at the band's official web site.

According to a press release, KLONE's roots "are to be found in metal, heavy rock, stoner, grunge, pop and psychedelic music, which creates a very own blend, using uncommon instruments like harp, saxophone, Chinese flute and also electro."

Brendon Small, co-creator of "Metalocalypse", the smash hit animated series on Adult Swim featuring the fictitious metal band DETHKLOK, has written and produced BRENDON SMALL'S GALAKTIKON "A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock Album", the debut release from his long-awaited side project. Due in April, the CD's arrival will coincide with the Season 4 premiere of "Metalocalypse".

"On My Way", the closing track from "A High Stakes", can be streamed using the SoundCloud player below (courtesy of CraveOnline.com).

"I'm thrilled to finally give people a taste of what I've been blabbing about doing for months," states Brendon. "'On My Way' is the last track on the record, where our hero confronts the villain and saves the girl, while complaining the whole time!"

Coming off of the second DETHKLOK album which was heavier and darker than the first, BRENDON SMALL'S GALAKTIKON searches for melody (in the vocal) and finds inspiration in modern black metal, QUEEN, FOO FIGHTERS, SOUNDGARDEN, SMASHING PUMPKINS and WEEZER. No influence is unwelcome on this project. Brendon Small paired with DETHKLOK drummer Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, TESTAMENT, FEAR FACTORY) and DETHKLOK bassist Bryan Beller (DETHKLOK, STEVE VAI, MIKE KENEALLY) and DETHKLOK engineer and mixer Ulrich Wild.

"This album should be thought of as an audio comic book, an over acted chamber drama, a ridiculous premise that takes itself way too seriously all the way to the end," states Small.

The BRENDON SMALL'S GALAKTIKON "A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock Album" cover art was designed by Antonio Canobbio and can be seen below.

In a July 2011 interview with Revolver magazine, Small was asked at what point he decided it was time to make a solo record. "There was a time when I didn't know if I was going to do the second DETHKLOK album," he said. "I had the studio lined up, and the players lined up, and the engineer and co-producer, and all that shit, and unfortunately, the guy we were negotiating with went on vacation and left things kind of dead. So I said, 'OK, fuck this — I'm going to spend my own money and get these guys doing something.'

"I love melody and I love melodic vocals in metal, not just the guttural stuff — though obviously it works with DETHKLOK, and I wouldn't want to change a thing. I long for melody in the vocal.

"When I was developing the DETHKLOK sound, some of the things I was writing weren't heavy enough for DETHKLOK, but I still liked them. So I was like, I'm going to make this into something, so I'm going to get Gene [Hoglan] and I'm going to get Bryan Beller, and we're going to make this project, and I'm going to figure out what it is. Then the negotiations got all cleared up, and we went right back into the same studio and did the second DETHKLOK album."

Regarding whether those non-DETHKLOK songs eventually became the basis for "Brendon Small's Galaktikon", Small said, Yeah. I had all these songs where there were elements of QUEEN, but also elements of FOO FIGHTERS and SMASHING PUMPKINS, with some DIO elements as well. My kind of rule for the record was, it's going to be whatever it ends up being, and I'm going to tell a story through the whole thing. Once I started putting the pieces together, I found the story, and I realized that, OK, this is a high-stakes, intergalactic, extreme rock album. And if I do this right, it's going to be like an audio comic book. It's turned out to be something that I'm really happy to have done because I flexed a different muscles while making it — but if you're one of the kids who liked DETHKLOK, you're going to be able to tell that it's the same dude playing guitar, and Gene Hoglan on drums and Bryan Beller on bass. DETHKLOK has to be a certain kind of sound, but this other thing is whatever it needs to be. I got to pull out a vocoder and do ELO-style things here and there, and there's an instrumental on there that's a total tribute to Vai and Satriani and Yngwie and Steve Morse.

TMZ.com reports that original KORN drummer David Silveria was arrested for DUI in Huntington Beach, California this past weekend.

According to police records, the 39-year-old musician — who played with KORN for 13 years — was arrested on Sunday at 10:45 a.m.

Silveria recently joined forces with ANYONE members Riz Story and Miki Black in a brand new project called INFINIKA.

David left KORN in late 2006 in order to focus on family life along with running his steak house and sushi restaurant. In December 2009, David changed his steak house into the rock and sports-themed bar Silvera's Rockbar and was said to be no longer 50 percent owner of his sushi restaurant, having agreed to sell his half of ownership over to his ex-wife after a year-long court battle.

During a 2010 interview, KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer stated that David "has sold or gave away all his drums. I heard he doesn't even own a drumstick anymore."

Bullet Tooth has announced the worldwide signing of Minneapolis Minnesota's THROW THE FIGHT.

For the past three decades, Minneapolis has had its finger on the pulse of the musical world. There's something about the Northern Midwest crowds that demand passion and energy from their musical acts. THROW THE FIGHT continues that tradition, bringing an authentic display of metal-edged, hard rock. It's the kind of energy one hears on the band's newest album, the John Feldmann-produced (ATREYU, THE USED) "What Doesn't Kill Us".

Months after initial talks with the band, Bullet Tooth president Josh Grabelle flew out to Minneapolis to see the band play in their element. "I watched THROW THE FIGHT play at First Ave in front of 1000+ hungry music fans and they tore the roof off the place. They were exactly what I had hoped they would be and reminded me of a young BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. These guys are stars."

"We're really excited to be working with Josh Grabelle and Bullet Tooth. Our new record has been a long time coming and it feels good to be partnering with a label that understands what we're trying to accomplish. Josh has a great track record of breaking bands," commented guitarist Ryan Baustert.

Recorded during a three-week stretch in Feldmann's own Los Angeles studio, "What Doesn't Kill Us" runs the gamut, stretching across metal and alternative, to just plain-old, white-knuckled rock 'n' roll. Serving to example is the blinding intensity behind tracks like "One Step Away", "Lifesaver" and "Lights Out For Summer", which are imbued with soulful, intelligent songwriting to accompany THROW THE FIGHT's brand of angst-ridden fervor.

An early single, "Not So Hollywood", was "leaked" and has already begun to pick up steam at radio stations across the country. KXXR in Minneapolis was the first station to hop on board and immediately added the track to full rotation. Since then, WHMH, KZRV, KZIO, KQYK, KMSU, KMSK, KMSU, KYTC, KGRR and KDAM are beginning to follow suit. An official music video for "Not So Hollywood" directed by Scott Hansen (A DAY TO REMEMBER, I SEE STARS) will launch on all media outlets in the coming months.

"What Doesn't Kill Us" will be released on June 5.

THROW THE FIGHT is:

James Clark - Vocals
Ryan Baustert - Guitar
Jonathan Sutton - Guitar/Vocals
Jeff Baustert - Drums
Kyle Glidden - Bass/Vocals

Norway's Dark Essence Records has announced the signing of Bergen-based post-metal crew KRAKOW. The band's second full-length album, "diin", was recorded with producer Iver Sandøy (TRINACRIA, MANNGARD) and will be released in September.

Commenting on the signing, Dark Essence label head Martin Kvam said: "KRAKOW have taken a huge step forward and upwards with this beast of an album, creating a unique sound and atmosphere that is entirely their own, and we are very proud to have them on our label."

Formed in 2005 by Frode Kilvik (bass, vocals), Kjartan Grønhaug (guitar) and René Misje (guitar, vocals), KRAKOW recorded their first three-track demo within a couple of months of being together and went on to release their "Dusty Roads" EP in 2007. The band's debut album, "Monolith", appeared in 2009. Initially drawing their inspiration from bands such as ISIS, NEUROSIS, IRON MAIDEN and MASTODON, KRAKOW have gone their own way, producing a sound that is at times dark, evocative and beautiful, at other times fast and aggressive or heavy and mesmerizing. It's with difficulty that anyone can pin a genre on KRAKOW but the names most mentioned when talking about the band are post-rock, metal and stoner rock.

KRAKOW's lineup was recently expanded to include drummer Ask Ty Arctander of KAMPFAR and MONDVOLLAND.

Coming off his 2011 debut solo EP "Town Line" — which entered the Billboard Country Albums chart at #1 and produced the ACM-nominated, gold-selling single "Country Boy"Aaron Lewis will release a much-anticipated full length album, "The Road", on June 26 via R&J Records.

Once again produced by James Stroud (TOBY KEITH, TIM MCGRAW, CHRIS YOUNG) and Lewis, "The Road" features 10 brand new songs including the uptempo feel-good first single "Endless Summer".

Lewis — who also fronts the multi-million-selling hard rock group STAIND — had originally planned to record five new songs to be paired with the songs from "Town Line", but decided to record a full album as more song ideas blossomed while recording in Nashville. Lewis wrote all of the songs on the album except "Grandaddy's Gun", penned by hit Nashville songwriters Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins and Bobby Pinson, marking the first time Lewis has ever recorded another artist's music for an album. Lewis heard the song when on a hunting trip with Stroud and Akins and identified with the lyrics so much that he asked Akins for permission to cut it.

Meanwhile, Lewis wants his fans to have an early taste of the upcoming album and is offering a free download of "Red, White & Blue". Click here to check it out.

Lewis has earned two nominations in the "Vocal Event Of The Year" category at the upcoming ACM Awards for his work as artist and as co-producer on his debut solo single, "Country Boy", which was certified gold in September for sales in excess of 500,000 units. The singer, songwriter and guitarist was nominated in the category along with his guest artists, George Jones and Charlie Daniels. The video for the song has been viewed over 15 million times online alone. Last year, the single and video also earned Lewis his first two CMT Music Award nominations: "Collaborative Video of the Year" and "USAWeekend Breakthrough Video of the Year."

"Town Line" — which also entered at #7 on The Billboard 200 chart — drew critical praise from a wide variety of writers, including People's Chuck Arnold, who said, "He proves to be a natural on nostalgic ballads like 'The Story Never Ends'."

"The Road" track listing:

01. 75
02. The Road
03. Endless Summer
04. Red, White & Blue
05. Lessons Learned
06. Forever
07. Grandaddy's Gun

Pioneers of Singaporean grind DEMISOR have inked a worldwide deal with Pulverised Records. The band is currently hard at work on material an as-yet-untitled new EP, to be released later this year.

Former in 1987, DEMISOR began churning out demos a couple of years later, having issued the "Mestectomy" demo in 1990 and the notorious "Oral Climax" demo in 1992, along with countless split albums throughout their entire discography.

Commented the band: "Enraptured by Pulverised signings, it's an honor to work with Pulverised as we do know of their professionalism towards the core of extreme music. Pulverised indeed gave us the privilege to blast out to the masses with our kind of uber-obliterating grindcore!!! With the upcoming mini-album soon in line to be released under Pulverised, it definitely will pummel all aspects of grind holocaust that DEMISOR has ever churn out under the old zombie maniacs! Expect nothing but blistering grindcore tornado on this mini-album under the flag of Pulverised.... Be warned!"

Added Pulverised Records A&R manager Calvin: "It was no sheer coincidence that DEMISOR came to be a part of the Pulverised roster; we had known the guys for years and had always shown a positive interest in releasing something for them but unfortunately, the time was never right and the other members in DEMISOR were heavily involved in their other respective bands. Towards the end of 2011, we got news from the band that DEMISOR is now officially back in full force and with the new EP planned and as well as a short Euopean tour coming up. There is no other better time than to unify this DEMISOR / Pulverised allegiance! The DEMISOR in 2012 shall manifest how grind is properly done!"

In other news, DEMISOR will take part in this year's edition of the infamous Obscene Extreme festival in Trutnov, Czech Republic. The band will also embark on a European mini-tour, including stops in several other countries.
Drummer Rhett Davis of the death/doom outfit MORGION has released the following statement:

"It is with great regret that I must inform you all that MORGION must postpone our performance at this year's Maryland Deathfest on Friday, May 25th. Jeremy [Peto; bass/vocals] recently sustained a quite serious neck and back injury, serious enough to where he must undergo surgery and months of physical therapy. Needless to say, we are all very concerned for his health and well-being. We must ask you to be patient with us just a lil' bit longer!I do have to stress this is NOT a cancellation, this is a postponement... Our sincere apologies for this, but the circumstances are quite serious and we hope our fans/friends understand and wish Jeremy a speedy recovery!"

"God of Death & Decay", which features MORGION's earliest recorded material, the "Rabid Decay" and live rehearsal demos as well as the "Travesty" seven-inch single, will be out in the spring via Dark Descent Records. Cover artwork (pictured below) was done by famed artist Mark Riddick.

French metallers DARKTRIBE have inked a deal with Massacre Records. The band's debut album, "Mysticeti Victoria", will be released worldwide on August 24. According to a press release, "Mysticeti Victoria" "deals with the path of self-destruction to which the human civilization moves by ruining earth."

DARKTRIBE's sound is characterized by "powerful vocals, heavy guitars and progressive rhythms [with] melodic and symphonic parts."

DARKTRIBE was formed in 2009 by the Agnello brothers, Anthony (vocals) and Julien (drums). They were soon joined in the band by their longtime friends Bruno Caprani (bass) and Loïc Manuello (guitars).

DARKTRIBE quickly showed its passion of sharing music by recording its first EP, "Natural Defender", that same year.

Anthony Agnello - Vocals

Julien Agnello - Drums

Canadian technical death metallers GORGUTS have been confirmed as the support act for the "Death To All Tour 2012" in benefit of Sweet Relief. This five-city tour will feature a majority of DEATH's amazing musicians, as well as special guests. This tour is to celebrate the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner, as well as to raise awareness of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund — a charity that provides financial assistance to career musicians faced with illness, disability or age-related problems.

This tour will kick off in San Francisco, California and work its way to Orlando, Florida — stopping in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York along the way. GORGUTS will open all shows up to, but not including, Orlando.

Commented GORGUTS mainman Luc Lemay: "If I owe one person regarding the fact that I chose to become a death metal musician in life, I totally owe this to Chuck Schuldiner.

"Back in '86-'87, I was already a fan of the genre with POSSESSED's 'Seven Churches', CELTIC FROST's 'Morbid Tales' and HELLHAMMER's 'Apocalyptic Raids'. But the day I put my hand on DEATH's 'Scream Bloody Gore' cassette tape, my life changed. All I wanted was to become a guitar player, playing death metal and singing with a raw, evil and brutal voice like Chuck.

"So here I am, twenty five years later, as passionate as day one. Being on stage paying homage to this amazingly visionary and creative artist, Chuck Schuldiner. In my heart I see him as important as any composer of the 20th and 21st centuries. He created a language and a musical esthetic that will never be forgotten."

The drums on the "Death To All Tour 2012" will be handled by Gene Hoglan ("Individual Thought Patterns", "Symbolic") and Sean Reinert ("Human"). On bass will be Steve DiGiorgio ("Human", "Individual Thought Patterns") and Scott Clendenin ("The Sound Of Perseverance"). Guitar duties will be shared by Paul Masvidal ("Human"), Shannon Hamm ("The Sound of Perseverance") and Bobby Koelble ("Symbolic"). The vocals will be taken care of by Steffen Kummerer of OBSCURA and Charles Elliott of ABYSMAL DAWN and BEREFT.

The dates are as follows:

June 22 - The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco, CA
June 23 - House of Blues – West Hollywood, CA
June 26 - House of Blues - Chicago, IL
June 28 - Irving Plaza – New York, NY
June 30 - The Beacham - Orlando, FL

Season of Mist has announced the signing of the German deathcore act WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH.

Commented the band in a statement: "Even if this will sound like your stereotype statement for record deal-related news, we're still gonna say it: We are proud and actually honored to announce that we have signed with Season Of Mist, home to many of our favourite bands out there. DEATHSPELL OMEGA, CYNIC, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, MISERY INDEX, SEPTICFLESH, KYLESA, SÓLSTAFIR, NIGHTBRINGER... and the list continues! We have been talking to several labels over the last few months, but were looking for one with an actual profile and character. A label and artist roster we would actually love to be a part of. And nothing rivals Season Of Mist when you're looking for these things. We're an extreme band by any means and it was about time to take a step into the right direction. We feel that the guys at Season Of Mist understand and appreciate our musical approach and really couldn't ask for more."

WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH's third album, "MMX", was released in the fall of 2010 through Lifeforce Records.

While WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH has proven its sustainable relevance and snappy creativity over the past several years by combining tech metal, grindcore, hardcore, and jazzy influences, "MMX" "showcases a wider range of ferocious influences than seen on the band's previous efforts," according to a press release. "'MMX' is the band's most extreme release to date; WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH is once again defining new standards for the extreme underground."

Mark Holmes of Metal Discovery conducted an interview with bassist Derek Boyer of New York death metallers SUFFOCATION before the band's March 15 concert in Liverpool, England. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Metal Discovery: So [drummer] Mike Smith left recently, of course, and he's already spoken out in an interview I've read to say his departure was "inevitable." Did the rest of the band feel that was inevitable as well?

Derek: You know, deep down we love the guy and we just kind of had a different direction in mind and it was nothing personal…I mean, for me personally, nothing personal. It was more we wanted to go full steam ahead and he kind of wanted to do it a different way. And nothing wrong with his way but his way didn't work with the way we were trying to move. We wanted to do more work and it just wasn't the right time today. But still respect for him; a lot of respect and that's that.

Metal Discovery: Mike's been quite critical of the band in the interview I read after he left – was his departure amicable from your point of view?

Derek: We're really not trying to defame anyone. He's speaking his perspective and we're just trying to be professional and move forward and that's pretty much the deal.

Metal Discovery: There have been a few rumors on the Internet lately about SUFFOCATION splitting up. Were you surprised by that kind of overreaction based on just one lineup change?

Derek: It's not over!

Metal Discovery: But were you surprised about people overreacting in that way?

Derek: Er, yeah, some people, you know, let's say you're a diehard Mike Smith fan — if Mike Smith's not in the band, then maybe your feelings are hurt and maybe it's not SUFFOCATION if you're a diehard Mike Smith fan.

Metal Discovery: I gather a new album's set to be released later this year but nothing's actually been recorded yet?

Derek: Well, we have all the pre-production done. We're recording the record ourselves and so now we've gotta get everybody up to speed, teach everybody all the parts, make sure everybody feels comfortable with the tempos, and write the harmonies. There's still some lyrical content that needs to be done but that's the fun part, you know, like putting the icing on the cake.

Metal Discovery: Is the new material much in the same vein as "Blood Oath" or has there been any progression in your sound?

Derek: I feel like it's a little more…I don't want to say aggressive if that's the only word because "Blood Oath" is pretty aggressive, too. It's really chaotic, it's really fast and it's got a lot of really heavy slams and twists. You know, it's the SUFFOCATION you know and love but also some new feel.
