I remember when Masque was the "new" album and it was a real mind-blower at the time.

Livgren parted ways with the group a long time ago. Probably over spiritual issues, altho I dont really know.

Kerry Livgren is mainly responsible for the more spiritual lyrics produced by Kansas.  My favorite lines are from a song called The Pinnacle from Masque. "Knowledge and reason, change like the season, a jester's promenade".  Such an insightful view of a commom human condition.  Like I said before, I'm extremely biased as I heard these songs as they were released, so they were fresh and brand new.  Eye-opening & mind-expanding.  But even he said that "Dust" was just suddenly, inspirationally, placed into his mind.

I'm a guitarist too.
