It was all about to pay off for him. He just finished playing the New Orleans Jazz Fest 1990 on the main stage that Dr.John, The Neville Brothers and Irma Thomas appeared on. His music,a new electric cd which got him that gig was never released after his death Now it's actually missing. No one knows where the guy is who has the original tracks, but I have a copy of the rough mixes that were given to me at his funeral. What an interesting write up. It's such a shame a man who worked so hard never got to bare the fruits of his labour. And absolutely disgrace that his death was never investigated.

Walter was a star who fell through the cracks and the world never got to know about him.He was actually signed by Atlantic records in 1958 but somehow or another someone on the business end of things dropped the ball.He was killed in 1990 when he was just about to become famous. Check out his bio that was done by a soul music journalist in the uk. Contains vintage recordings.
