Judas Priest would like to clarify their status. They recently announced that their upcoming world tour would be their last, but, writes guitarist Glenn Tipton on his website, "this is by no means the end of the band. In fact, we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour."

KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer says the band will be in the studio beginning in March to record a new album. In recent interviews with BackstageAxxess.com and Palm Springs CA radio station 93.7 KCLB, Thayer says that band mate Paul Stanley will produce the album, as he did their last one, Sonic Boom in 2009. A late 2011 release is anticipated for the 20th KISS studio album.

Rush drummer Neil Peart continues to make a name for himself as an author. Peart's fifth book, Far And Away: A Prize Every Time, is due out May 1. From publisher ECW Press: "Following in the tradition of Ghost Rider and Traveling Music ... Peart relates nearly four years of band tours, road trips, and personal discoveries in this introspective travelogue."
