Rolling Stones didn't just suddenly become aware of how popular & good Led Zeppelin was. They just jumped on the fast moving band wagon. Rolling Stone for years thought they controlled the direction rock went and telling people what they should like. I learned a long time ago to not listen to critics, but to find out for myself if I liked a band or not.

and I learned the hard way, first hand, being the brunt of their attacks, just how vicious and and snotty they can be. The worst ones, the most harsh and rigid, are always the ones who cannot play a note, have never been in any kind of real working rock group. Its those guys who really seem to have some kind of axe to grind.
