I don tknow about that. Back in the mid 70s, in my town anyway, they were the Kings of rock and nobody else really came close. Kiss got a lot of discussion time but it was never even hinted that they were musically the equal of Zeppelin. Nobody was, back then... in my circle of friends anyway.

Grand Funk for some reason has been forgotten by alot of folks. Intersting to wonder why. They were monsters back in the day, and now they have a helluva time filling the show lounge at our local casino. Realizing full well that Mark Farner is no longer a part of the group.

the Grand Funk sound didnt "hold up" whereas Zeppelin and Sabbath still sound almost modern. you never know, one day the Grand Funk sound might come back into fashion.

Altho the Funk sound changed somewhat with E Pluribus Funk, and from then on into the future. I remember Eddie VanHalen sort of ridiculing Mark farners early guitar sound.
