Re: [Classic_Rock_Forever] Re: Song of the year 1977 secondroundpt. 1

I've learned that Jazz is as broad as Rock music, all kinds of little sub
genres that appeal to me more or less.

Some of the artists that I like evolved with the times, quite dramatically
in some instances.

Favourites of the better known artists include, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock,
Oscar Peterson, Vince Guaraldi, Stan Getz, John Coltrane, Monk, etc.

Similar to Rock
music, some of the gems are with those groups or artists that haven't quite
maintained a high profile. Guys like Hank Mobley, Freddie Hubbard, Stephan
Grappelli, piles more, are well known in the circles, but you need to dig a
little to learn about them.

The other very cool thing about jazz, is that contrary to what Mr. Zappa
said, it doesn't smell funny at all these days. There are piles of very
talented folks out there making music today that is damn fine.

Sunday supper about to hit the grill!

Classical I can handle and sometimes like, jazz I never got into.
