I respectfully disagree. I think Lou sounds like Lou, and Metallica sound like themselves in a backing role. It is putting those two things together that make it challenging. It is definitely a different beast, but for whatever reason, it works for me.

Lou has always been capable of a certain element of musical ambivalence, and there have been times when he has made that work really well

Lulu is not one of those times

While I like both lou reed and metallica, I can see pure metal heads wanting nothing to do with reed. (just not heavy enough).

This one may have been a nice thought but because of the extreme difference in styles just doent work as hoped.
