"AC/DC: Iron Man 2" — which features 15 classic AC/DC songs selected from ten of the band's studio albums, ranging from 1976 to 2008 — was certified gold on February 14, 2012 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.

Through a unique collaboration between Marvel Studios and Columbia Records, AC/DC's music was featured in Marvel Studios' "Iron Man 2", the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster film.

The film opened internationally on April 28, 2010. In the U.S., the film was distributed by Paramount Pictures and was released on May 7, 2010.

The debut video from "AC/DC: Iron Man 2" was the AC/DC's classic album cut "Shoot To Thrill", which was filmed live in Buenos Aires during the band's highly acclaimed Black Ice World Tour, the second-highest-grossing world tour of 2009 according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar. The video also incorporated exclusive footage from "Iron Man 2".

"Shoot To Thrill" was originally recorded for the band's 50-million selling album "Back In Black", one of the best-selling albums of all time.

"Jon Favreau's vision and passion for AC/DC's music blend seamlessly into this incredible film" said Steve Barnett, co-chairman of Columbia Records. "The music really underscores the high energy and excitement of the film."

Jon Favreau returned to direct "Iron Man 2", with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his starring role as the larger-than-life leading character, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson.

Based on Marvel's iconic Super Hero, "Iron Man 2" continued the story of 2008's box office smash hit "Iron Man", which grossed nearly $600 million worldwide, and was the first feature film produced independently by Marvel Studios. "Iron Man 2" is being produced by Marvel Studios' President, Kevin Feige.

Following the massively successful "Final Frontier World Tour 2010-11", IRON MAIDEN are back on the road this summer with a series of arena, amphitheatre and festival shows in the USA and Canada, opening in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 21 and finishing in Houston, Texas on Aug 18 (dates listed below), to be followed by further dates around the world in 2013. The "Maiden England World Tour" will closely mirror, in terms of production and content, the original 1988 concert video of the same name, shot on the "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour". This opening section of the world tour is the band's most extensive visit to North America for many years and includes a number of cities the band have not played in a very long time, such as Charlotte, Atlanta, Buffalo, Indianapolis and Salt Lake City.

In most venues, tickets will go on sale on March 2 and March 3 but watch the band's official site or check local venue information for fuller details. Fan-club members should check out ironmaiden.com for exclusive first day ticket presales and contest to be "First To The Barrier."

"Maiden England" marks the third chapter in the history of IRON MAIDEN, a journey which began in 2004 with "The Early Days" DVD and subsequent 2005 "Early Days Tour". Part two followed in 2008 with the "Live After Death" DVD — the seminal 1984 concert recorded at Long Beach Arena in California during the "World Slavery Tour" — and the band embarking on their groundbreaking "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008/9", which saw them play to over two million fans in almost 40 countries.

Comments vocalist Bruce Dickinson: "We have great fun playing the history of MAIDEN tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalogue. It's always fantastic seeing the crowd reaction from a new generation of fans who have never experienced some of these tracks performed live before, and of course we know our longstanding fans will enjoy seeing the original 'Seventh Son Tour' revisited — with many other surprises! Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of 'Maiden England', including some songs we have not played live in a very, very long time, plus other favourites we just know the fans are going to want to hear! We always try to give our fans a great show musically, but we have always tried to make it as entertaining and memorable an experience as we can visually. And we all feel this show is going to do that splendidly! We can't wait to get started in Charlotte."

IRON MAIDEN are delighted to announce that the extraordinary and legendary ALICE COOPER will be their very special guest on all shows up to July 21. After that date, special guest will be COHEED AND CAMBRIA, the inspiring, cutting-edge band from New York.

IRON MAIDEN continue to be actively dedicated to ensuring their fans always have full access to the best possible tickets in the fairest possible way. Manager Rod Smallwood comments: "We are trying to ensure that our fans get the tickets they want in the prime positions without paying over the odds to ticket scalpers. MAIDEN get infuriated with the way fans sometimes have to pay more than the ticket price to get good positions at our shows. So we will, wherever possible (festivals excluded), with the assistance of the promoters, arrange a paperless ticketing system at least for the front sections to try to eliminate as much of the ticket scalping and exchanges as we can. We put this into practice on our North American tour in 2010; it worked well and we received many positive comments back from our fans, so we intend to increase this where feasible. With paperless ticketing, only those who actually pay initially for the tickets will get into the show so scalping is generally avoided. We are also doing everything we can to avoid any drain of prime tickets going to the secondary ticketing sites which we feel make unfair profits from music fans.

"As we consider all our fans to be VIPs, no tickets will be held specifically for VIP use. At some venues, the promoter may provide the option for fans to pay extra for 'VIP parking,' early access, access to 'VIP bar' etc. But these will be purely optional for ticket holders only and will not be tied to ticket locations — the ability to get the best tickets should be the same for everybody outside of the usual presales.

"Finally, we are, of course, once again arranging exclusive ticket pre-sales for our fan club members so they can be quick off the mark for great tickets and will also continue to run the contest in appropriate venues for fan club members so they can be 'First To The Barrier' prior to the show. We hope that these measures will help our fans as much as possible and ask that they keep checking for details on our web site."

Ticketmaster comments: "Where possible the North American IRON MAIDEN shows will operate a paperless ticket policy. Select tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster's Paperless Ticket delivery, which means fans will not receive a physical concert ticket for their entry into the event. Buying paperless helps ensure fans have secure and convenient access to event tickets at the intended original sale price. On the day of show, concert goers just need to bring the credit card they used for the ticket purchase and a government-issued photo ID to the concert. All members of the ticket purchaser's party must be present at the same time to enter the venue. The venue's ticket usher will swipe their credit card upon entry and present each person in their party with seat locator slips for quick access into the show. To purchase paperless tickets or for more information, fans should visit www.ticketmaster.com/paperless or call the Ticketmaster charge-by-phone number at 1-800-745-3000."

Marija Brettle of Hardrock Haven recently conducted an interview with THIN LIZZY keyboardist Darren Wharton. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Hardrock Haven: Since 2010, the band toured extensively and some would say the new LIZZY lineup was put to the ultimate test in front of longstanding fans. And so far, there's been some overwhelming evidence of old and new fans who are delighted to see you back. But then, there are also some negative comments from people who are strongly opposing the whole idea of LIZZY's new line-up to carry on without a band's key member, Phil Lynott?

Darren: Yeah. The thing is… in the last few years, new fans come on board in huge numbers, and we do get back our old fan base. Now that people can see our shows, performance and all that, there is a certainly different feeling about the band going back touring. Obviously, it's different vibe now without Philip in the band. But then, nobody more than the band wishes Phil was here with us tonight. Having a blast, like we used to! People miss him, obviously, and we understand that. You know, we think about him all the time, and in spirit he is always with us. So… this is our way to carry on his music legacy and make him proud! Therefore, this is as good as will ever gonna get without him. More to the point, we tend to get that general reaction from the fans, saying they love our live performance.

Hardrock Haven: When THIN LIZZY first reunited in 1990s, some hardcore LIZZY fans accused you of cashing in on Phil's music legacy? What would you say to this people?

Darren: Let's get one think straight: no one can ever replace Phil Lynott! If anything, all we have done so far is honoring Phil's legacy! I mean, it's that simple! (Laughs) We do as much as we can to make sure people won't forget Philip for what he really was an incredible talented and amazing musician. So this is our way to say to Phil, we're thinking of him. Unlike most reunited bands out there, THIN LIZZY never was in it for the money. Never!

Hardrock Haven: Maybe the ones, who still doubt you, should come and see one of your shows. (Laughs)

Darren: Well, the fact is, in the last two or three years, we're getting more fans than ever that have seen the original LIZZY with Lynott. And I can tell you, they are still coming back to see us. Then we have people coming to us saying how they are blown away by our performance. I mean, that's all we wanna know. So, in that respect, I think we are doing an excellent work in what we do. We also meet fans every night that have never seen THIN LIZZY with Philip… and they love our shows. So… genuinely, it's very exciting time for the band. It's not the same, but this is the closest it can be with three original members. I mean, we all know in our hearts it'll never be the same without Phil.
Anne Erickson of Gibson.com recently conducted an interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Gibson.com: Did MÖTLEY CRÜE ever have a dream of having your own residency in Las Vegas? I mean, you're the first rock band to really do so.

Mick: Not really. I'm an old-school type of person. When it comes to residencies, I think MÖTLEY CRÜE is kind of breaking the ice in that area, because when I think of residencies, I think of the older names and non-rock acts. So, I feel like it's what we did with the Roxy in Los Angeles with the rock scene. We were the first unsigned band to play there, which opened up a whole new area for bands that were unsigned to play. So, we could be doing the same thing here. I don't know — I don't have a crystal ball. [Laughs]. But, I'm guessing stuff like that will happen.

Gibson.com: I've heard that you guys are planning to put together a movie [the long-awaited film adaptation of CRÜE's band biography "The Dirt - Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band"] and new album by 2013. What can you tell us about the progress on that?

Mick: We're working on it, and I believe we have the producers lined up. The directors I met with a month or so ago, and they're all really cool people, and they get it. They understand what rock and roll is about. When I talked to them, I went, "This isn't all fun and games and fluffy stuff. This is the real deal..." That's the realism of how rock and roll really is. So far, these directors really get it, and the producers also really like the idea. I'd give it a 99 percent chance of happening, along with a new record.
ARTISTdirect.com editor Rick Florino recently conducted an interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

ARTISTdirect.com: So how do you up the ante every night with the Las Vegas residency?

Mars: The more we do the show, the tighter and better it gets. You find little things and say, "Oh, this doesn't work. Let's tighten that up and do it this way instead of that way." We fix the little odd events that go wrong. Something might get stuck in the ceiling, and we watch out for that next time [Laughs]. It's real!

ARTISTdirect.com: Has MÖTLEY CRÜE always had a connection to Las Vegas?

Mars: Vince Neil lives here. We play here quite a bit. As far as gambling and all of that, I'm pretty much done. I stopped a long time ago when I lost a few thousand bucks or a little more [Laughs]. It's a cool city. There's so much amazing stuff going on. I remember this place way back in the late '50s and early '60s. I'd come here when I was a kid. I think the brightest lights I saw on the Strip came from the Flamingo Hotel. When I lived in Indiana, we drove out here and went through Las Vegas. We'd ride over the Hoover Dam. It was such a naïve kid, I wished there was snow on it so I could sled down it [Laughs].

ARTISTdirect.com: Does the setlist change nightly?

Mars: It stays steady. There may be some weird things that happen nightly. As far as the music goes, we play it in order. We play the hits and the "near misses" as Joe Walsh would say [Laughs]. Off the new album, there's a song or two. From the first album, we play "Too Fast For Love" and "Piece Of Your Action". We play "Afraid" from "Generation Swine" and things like that. We try to change it up some. However, if you've been to enough concerts, you'd get disappointed if AEROSMITH didn't play "Walk This Way". We've got the songs in there you want to hear.

ARTISTdirect.com: Have you started working on the next record?

Mars: Not yet, but we do have quite a few ideas. I work on my own at home. Nikki [Sixx, bass] does. Tommy [Lee, drums] does. Nikki will call me up and say, "Hey, I've got a great riff". I'll go, "Okay, send it over!" Tommy's the same way. Sometimes, we'll do some goofing around during soundcheck. Mostly, we put a lot into pre-production, adding different elements to the show. I have my riffs. I've got them all recorded. I have stacks of them on my Pro Tools. When tape was happening, I had stacks of tapes. I've got probably a thousand songs that we could work from. I'm sure Nikki does as well. Nowadays, it's easy because we can send a hard drive back and forth.

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson last fall became one of 100 students in the distance education program at the Concordia Seminary in Clayton, Missouri. Classes include "Lutheran Distinctions," "Preaching I & II," "Introduction to Worship" and "Scripture and Faith."

Speaking to Michael Gryboski of Christian Post, Ellefson stated about his decision to try to become an ordained Lutheran pastor, "I've done higher education in recent years and I do a lot of work inside the church when I'm off the road, too. I do it merely out of my passion for it. So when the SMP program was offered to me from my pastor I thought it would be a great opportunity to play music and still grow in my faith and future opportunities for service to God."

He added, "The LCMS offering the SMP education for adults to be raised up in training from within the congregation is really a cool way to do this education and help the church develop pastors and leaders from within their own congregations. It's the only way for someone like me who travels for a living to get any type of higher learning education and this is a matter that is close to my heart and passions anyway."

When asked if he saw any conflict between being the bassist for a secular metal band and a Christian, Ellefson told Christian Post, "Some people in the church may see an issue with me playing mainstream music but this is the life I was given and my musical talents are also a gift from God. In hindsight, the formation and success of MEGADETH is blessed by God.

"For me to have a hunch at 16 to drive to California after my high school graduation, meet Dave Mustaine there at age 18, and then form this group was no random accident. To me, the whole thing has had the Lord's Hands on it from day one. After all, Christian plumbers, mechanics, lawyers, and doctors don't only work in the church, so why should a professional musician?"
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following statement to clarify media reports that he has endorsed Republican Rick Santorum for president:

"Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate. What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I've seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word 'endorse.'"

Santorum, the former two-term senator from Pennsylvania who was known during his tenure for being one of the more socially-conservative members of Congress, won caucuses in Colorado and Minnesota as well as the Missouri primary last week.

In a recent interview with MusicRadar.com, Mustaine — who was a correspondent for MTV during the 1992 presidential election — was asked for his take on U.S. politics in 2012. "I'm just hoping that whatever is in the White House next year is a Republican," Mustaine replied. "I can't bear to watch what's happened to our great country. Everybody's got their head in the sand. Everybody in the industry is like, 'Oh, Obama's doing such a great job...' I don't think so. Not from what I see.

"Looking at the Republican candidates, I've got to tell you, I was floored the other day to see that Mitt Romney's five boys have a $100 million trust fund. Where does a guy make that much money? So there's some questions there. And watching Newt Gingrich, I was pretty excited for a while, but now he's just gone back to being that person that everybody said he was — that angry little man. I still like him, but I don't think I'd vote for him.

"Ron Paul… you know, I heard somebody say he was like insecticide — 98 percent of it's inert gases, but it's the two percent that's left that will kill you. What that means is that he'll make total sense for a while, and then he'll say something so way out that it negates everything else. I like the guy because he knows how to excite the youth of America and fill them in on some things. But when he says that we're like the Taliban… I'm sorry, Congressman Paul, but I'm nothing like the Taliban.

"Earlier in the election, I was completely oblivious as to who Rick Santorum was, but when the dude went home to be with his daughter when she was sick, that was very commendable. Also, just watching how he hasn't gotten into doing these horrible, horrible attack ads like Mitt Romney's done against Newt Gingrich, and then the volume at which Newt has gone back at Romney… You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I'm hoping that if it does come down to it, we'll see a Republican in the White House... and that it's Rick Santorum."

Voting starts today at GoldenGodsAwards.com and ends on April 1. The complete list of nominees in each category is listed below.

The Golden God Award, given to one special honoree a year who embodies the spirit of hard rock and metal, will go to KISS demon Gene Simmons, whose band will release their highly anticipated 20th studio album, "Monster", this year. (Previous honorees include hard-rock and metal legends Alice Cooper, Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST and Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH.) Simmons commented, "It's an honor and privilege to accept the Golden God Award. A God is only as powerful as the faithful who worship him. Signed GOD OF THUNDER."

Adding to the celebration, The 2012 Revolver Golden Gods awards show will feature one-of-a-kind special performances and collaborations that honor both the past, present and future of heavy music. The night's hard-rocking musical performances will include sets by MARILYN MANSON (in his first U.S. performance in nearly three years); iconic Grammy-winning guitarist Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and THE CONSPIRATORS; EVANESCENCE; SIXX: A.M. featuring Nikki Sixx of MÖTLEY CRÜE, James Michael, acclaimed rock producer and songwriter, and DJ Ashba of GUNS N' ROSES (in their first performance in almost four years); and 2011 "Best New Band" Golden Gods Award winner BLACK VEIL BRIDES, who will perform their only U.S. show of 2012 so far. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

"Every year, the Revolver Golden Gods grows bigger and more badass. The 2012 edition is without question the most epic one yet, from the performers and presenters to the nominees and honorees," states Revolver Editor in Chief Brandon Geist. "And this year, with the Grammy Museum launching its tie-in 'Golden Gods: The History Of Heavy Metal' exhibit, and Xbox LIVE broadcasting the show around the world as it goes down in its entirety, the event will truly encompass the full timeline of heavy music and span the globe. Epic, indeed."

"Epiphone and I are thrilled to participate in the Golden Gods awards show and celebrate some of music's best talents — including this year's performers from our Epiphone/Gibson family Nikki Sixx and Slash," said Jim Rosenberg, President of Epiphone. "We are excited to share this year's event with Epiphone players and metal fans across the globe with the show's inaugural live broadcast. Every year, the show gets better and better!"

On the heels of MÖTLEY CRÜE's debut in Kia's "Drive the Dream" Super Bowl commercial and being the first hard rock band to ever launch a Las Vegas residency at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino through February 19, international rock icon Nikki Sixx is celebrating the launch of "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx" on Tampa's top rock music station 98Rock/WXTB-FM. "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx" debuted this past Monday night, February 13, in the station's 7 p.m. to midnight weeknight timeslot.

The addition of 98Rock marks the two-year anniversary of the Premiere Networks syndicated program, which launched nationally in February 2010 and is currently heard on nearly 90 affiliates nationwide reaching 2.6 million weekly listeners (source: Arbitron, SP'11, Nationwide, Exact Times, Cume, P 12+). In the key demo of Adults 25-54, "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx"'s AQH increased 52% from 2010 to 2011 (source: Arbitron, SP'10-SP'11, Nationwide, Exact Times, AQH, A 25-54).

Sixx stated, "98Rock has been a staple in building the careers of rock bands for as long as I can remember. With dedicated listeners like they have, I am beyond ecstatic and honored to be part of the legacy."

"We're stoked to have Nikki Sixx joining the 98Rock family. His career and show carry the same swagger as the radio station, and 'Sixx Sense' will offer a different flavor to night time radio in Tampa Bay," stated 98Rock Program Director Mike Killabrew.

Each night on "Sixx Sense", the international rock icon, founder/bassist/songwriter of the world-renowned band MÖTLEY CRÜE and chart-topping band SIXX: A.M., two-time New York Times best-selling author, clothing designer, philanthropist and photographer Nikki Sixx discusses music and lifestyle topics as he gives listeners a backstage look at the world and mind of a rock star. Joined by co-host Kerri Kasem, Sixx provides his unique perspective and attitude as the duo welcomes celebrity guests, recording artists and fascinating characters from all walks of life. All this and more are coupled with the radio station's playlist. The show is complemented by "The Side Show Countdown With Nikki Sixx", which is available for air on weekends between 6 a.m. and midnight local time. Commented ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffman: "ACCEPT and Andy Sneap have the perfect synergy. This was so clear with 'Blood Of The Nations' and we are excited to continue on that path. Andy is not only an amazing and prolific producer but also a very good friend who has long become a member of the ACCEPT family."

Regarding the musical direction of ACCEPT's next album, Hoffmann told The Rock Pit last year, "We're just gonna have the same attitude, the approach; we're just gonna do more of the same, you know, without it being the same. More similar-style stuff, hopefully fresh new ideas. And I mean, we're not gonna… The intention is not to change it right now. I mean, why would we? . . . But I have to say, it's always easier said than done. It's incredibly difficult to write songs that are sort of reminiscent of the past but they're not, you know, rip-offs of your own music. That sounds incredibly very simple, but it's really not, especially if you have a sort of history of 15 albums or whatever we have. Then there are always similarities that you have to avoid. It can't be too close, but it can't be too far away from it. So it's a pretty fine line that you have to walk sometimes, but, you know, hopefully we'll manage again."

ACCEPT's July 15, 2011 performance at last year's edition of the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany marked the band's return to a five-piece format after the group spent a couple of months touring as a quartet due to the fact that guitarist Herman Frank suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in a stage fall on May 6, 2011 in San Antonio.

"Blood Of The Nations" was released in North America on September 14, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded at Sneap's Backstage Studio in Derbyshire, England, the CD marked the debut of the band's latest addition, vocalist Mark Tornillo (ex-TT QUICK).

ACCEPT 2012 is:

Wolf Hoffmann: Guitar
Peter Baltes: Bass
Herman Frank: Guitar
Mark Tornillo: Vocals
Stefan Schwarzmann: Drums

VAN HALEN's new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", sold 187,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. Topping the list once again is ADELE's smash album "21" (with another 242,000 copies sold last week), which is spending its 20th week at No. 1, tying the mark set by the late Whitney Houston soundtrack for "The Bodyguard" in 1993.

"A Different Kind Of Truth" is the band's first full-length offering with original singer David Lee Roth since "1984" was released in January 1984.

Roth exited the group in 1985, a year after its "1984" album was released. According to Billboard.com, "1984" spent five weeks at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 — VAN HALEN's highest charting set with Roth. (1996's "Best Of Volume 1" hits album, which included two new songs with Roth, debuted at No. 1 with 233,000 sold in its first week.)

VAN HALEN's other four other No. 1s were their four studio albums with Roth's replacement, Sammy Hagar: "5150" (1986), "OU812" (1988), "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" (1991) and "Balance" (1995).

VAN HALEN's last all-new album, 1998's "Van Halen III", debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard chart and was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies, a disappointment compared to their previous platinum efforts.

In one of the first reviews of "A Different Kind Of Truth" to be posted online, Antiquiet critic Johnny Firecloud said that the band's first album with Roth in 28 years was a "true return" and "screaming triumph," adding, "That old familiar feeling has returned, the unique flare of excitement that comes from a muscle car rhythm section led by a six-string wizard and a singing sexual megalodon with an ego that made Kanye look like a kid flaunting his new Spider-Man underoos — and the pipes to back up the strut."

The review acknowledged that much of the album is made up of material pulled from the band's archives, writing, "Thankfully, these songs do not sound like old men putting on the smelly old spandex and combing over the strays. Fresh is the operative word here, a supremely confident swing for the fences in an understandable progression from the obsessively romanticized pre-Hagar era."

First single and album opener "Tattoo" is described as the "low point for an otherwise fantastic album," which may offer hope to fans who have voiced displeasure with that track. Other songs cited as standout tracks include "She's The Woman", "You And Your Blues", "China Town" and "Stay Frosty".

The review concluded, "'A Different Kind Of Truth' will be remembered as evidence that a band can endure every cliche in the book and return, with the right focus, obsessed dedication and mojo, to a sweet spot of rejuvenation — one that holds the hand of nostalgia but doesn't go for the full embrace, leaning instead, wisely, toward evolution."

Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE have entered a Thailand studio to begin recording their fourth album. The band's guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck tweeted earlier today (Wednesday, February 15), "Moose [drummer Michael Thomas] [is] tracking the first song right now!! Sounds incredible!!"

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE released a deluxe CD/DVD edition of its third full-length album, "Fever", titled "Fever Tour Edition", in February 2011. The set featured three new songs recorded live at Xfm radio in the U.K. ("Fever", "The Last Fight" and "Bittersweet Memories") and a DVD of "Your Betrayal", "Fever" and "Waking the Demon", recorded live from Graspop Metal Meeting 2010 in Dessel, Belgium. The DVD also included videos for "Your Betrayal", "The Last Fight" and "The Making of The Last Fight" as well as a BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE track-by-track commentary of "Fever".

"Fever" sold 71,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 3 on The Billboard 200 chart. "Fever" also landed in the Top Five in Australia, the U.K., Japan, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In a September 2011 interview with Lithium Magazine, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE guitarist Michael "Padge" Paget stated about "Fever", "As opposed to the other albums, this is right up there. This is definitely where we wanted to go as a band and it's definitely the right record when it comes to maturing. It's the third album; it's definitely where we wanted to go and has taken us where we want to be. It's ticking all the boxes so far and hopefully the next record does the same thing . . . We strive to write great songs and I think 'Fever' comes across as a great album, not just songs, and a complete album. You can sit down and listen to the whole thing as opposed to 'Scream, Aim, Fire'. We tried to take it back to the roots to the 'Poison' sort of thing on the new album, if you know what I mean."

According to SwedenAbroad.com, Swedish progressive metallers OPETH performed live in Singapore on February 9 at Fort Gate, Fort Canning.

In celebration of OPETH's nomination to the Swedish Music Export Prize and the Swedish Grammis award (Swedish Grammy equivalent), Ingemar Dolfe, who serves as Ambassador of Sweden to Singapore, hosted a reception at the Swedish residence where the band members had the opportunity to meet representatives from the local music industry and music bloggers.

In his welcome speech, Dolfe highlighted Sweden as one of the top five music exporters in the world and applauded the success OPETH had achieved on the world stage. He emphasized that the music industry is important for people's image of Sweden abroad and that the talented musicians and songwriters have helped to put Sweden on the world map.

KAMELOT's recently completed North American, South American and European tours featured guest singer Fabio Lione of RHAPSODY OF FIRE following the departure of KAMELOT's longtime frontman, Roy Khan. A permanent replacement for Khan has not yet been announced.

KAMELOT returned to Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany last month with Sascha Paeth producing, to begin recording its new album. The production is expected to be several months long and will include special guests, orchestra arrangements and much more.

"The new songs are really coming along great — lots of variation, melody and energy," said Youngblood.

Lione stated in a 2011 interview that he would "would love" to join KAMELOT permanently. He said, "The KAMELOT songs are great, I really like the style and Khan is probably one of the few singers that I like. So, of course, I would consider that!!! But first let's do the North American [tour]. Then if they will ask me, I'll be more than happy to join the band permanently."

He added, "Since the first time we met and played together, we had a very good feeling. Everything was easy and natural like we knew each other for years and everybody who saw the band in South America or Europe said we did great shows. I'm happy for the guys and the fans, so let's see what the future will bring for us. Never say never."

"Necropolis", the new video from KAMELOT, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's latest album, "Poetry For The Poisoned", which sold around 6,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD was released in North America on September 14, 2010 via the group's own label, Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings), and in Europe on September 10 through earMUSIC/Edel. Marquee/Avalon Records made the CD available in Japan.

Commented KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood: "With this video, we gave [director] Owe [Lingvall of Village Road Film] free rein to create something unique and visually stunning. Him and his team did a fantastic job! Here you have 'Necropolis'!"

"Carolus Rex", the new album from Swedish metallers SABATON, will be released in Europe on May 25 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721) and are sung entirely in Swedish.

Commented the band: "For the first time ever we have had an expert to help us out with the theme, the well-known Swedish historian Bengt Liljegren. We have also added some extra time in the studio to find the absolute right sound on 'Carolus Rex', and our producer, Peter Tägtgren, says that this album will mark a brand new standard for how a heavy metal album should sound like!"

Liljegren's previously published works include acclaimed biographies of Adolf Hitler and Karl XII. He also appeared in the popular Swedish TV series "Boston Tea Party".

"Carolus Rex" track listing:

Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI have released the following statement:

"Our dear friend and bandmate, 'Otus' Tonmi Lillman, has sadly passed away [at the age of 38]. He will be greatly missed and we send our condolences to his family and friends.

"Otus: we thank You from the bottom of our hearts for the short time we got to know you and spend with you together. Rest in peace, friend."

Members of LORDI always wear masks at interviews and have declared their desire for their personal identities to remain private. Therefore, Lillman's status as a member of LORDI had never been publicly acknowledged until now.

Lillman joined LORDI in October 2010 as the replacement for Kita, who was fired from the band after he "made a decision to pursue his own career publicly as himself [under his real name], without his alter ego Kita." LORDI explained at the time that revealing a member's true identity was "in direct conflict with one of the cornerstones of LORDI's image. Therefore it is not possible for [Kita] to continue as a member of the band anymore."

In addition to LORDI, Tonmi previously played with TO/DIE/FOR, SINERGY and AJATTARA, and was part of the parody punk band KYLÄHULLUT (featuring CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho and KLAMYDIA vocalist Vesku Jokinen).

Tonmi, who was actually born Tommi Lillman but changed his name to Tomni in 2004, grew up surrounded by a large assortment of instruments. He received his first drum kit at age nine and started performing live at age 14.

A gifted musician, Lillman also played guitar, bass and keyboards. Over the course of his career, he taught digital recording and drums at Kouvola Musiikkiopisto (Kouvola Conservatoire) and played in numerous folk, dance and pop orchestras. He also sat behind the kit during the "Dimebag Beyond Forever" 2009 tour alongside Rainer "Raikku" Tuomikanto.

Lillman was featured on several albums as a studio musician, including REFLEXION and TWILIGHT OPHERA, and made a name for himself as a studio engineer, having mixed and recorded such bands as BEHERIT, LIE IN RUINS, MYGRAIN, RYTMIHÄIRIÖ and SAATTUE.

ADRENALINE MOB — the band featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), SYMPHONY X frontman Russell Allen and guitar virtuoso Mike Orlando (SONIC STOMP) — will take part in an exclusive Samson- and Zoom-sponsored autograph signing at the following location:

Tuesday, March 13
7:00 p.m.
Looney Tunes

The band will be signing autographs, meeting fans and taking pictures.

ADRENALINE MOB's debut album, "Omertá", will be released in Europe on March 19 in Europe via Century Media Records. The CD will be made available in the U.S. on March 13 through the newly formed Elm City Music in conjunction with EMI Label Services.

The 11-song effort — which was produced by ADRENALINE MOB and mixed by Jay Ruston, who has previously worked on ANTHRAX's "Worship Music" and STEEL PANTHER's "Balls Out" — includes a blistering reinterpretation of DURAN DURAN's classic "Come Undone" featuring guest vocals by Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM.

"Omertá" track listing:

01. Undaunted
02. Psychosane
03. Indifferent
04. All On The Line
05. Hit The Wall
06. Feelin' Me
07. Come Undone (feat. Lzzy Hale)
08. Believe Me
09. Down To The Floor

11. Freight Train

ADRENALINE MOB earlier in the month announced the addition of DISTURBED bassist John Moyer to the group's ranks.

Moyer will make his live debut with ADRENALINE MOB on March 12 at Hiro Ballroom in New York City.

Said Moyer in a statement: "Mike Portnoy called me about auditioning for his new band ADRENALINE MOB. He had heard through the grapevine that I was looking to stay busy while DISTURBED is on hiatus. After jamming with Russ, Mike Orlando, and Portnoy, the chemistry as musicians was undeniable. I am super stoked about joining 'The Family' and I can't wait to hit the road with these guys and see what kind of musical mayhem we can create!"

ADRENALINE MOB will perform at several European festivals this summer, including Graspop Metal Meeting (June 22-24 in Dessel, Belgium) and Gods Of Metal (June 21-24 in Milan, Italy).

ADRENALINE MOB's first-ever headline tour made stops in various markets, including Chicago, Denver and San Francisco. ADRENALINE MOB also opened for GODSMACK on select dates of the Massachusetts act's headlining tour.

ADRENALINE MOB formed in early 2011 when Orlando approached Allen with some material the guitarist had written. Allen and Orlando refined those ideas, at which time Allen reached out to longtime friend Portnoy to see if he had any interest in playing with them. Portnoy jumped on board and soon thereafter DiLeo and Ward were recruited to join the family. From the very first note, the chemistry was apparent and the beast that is known as ADRENALINE MOB was born.

Guitarist Rich Ward (STUCK MOJO, FOZZY) and bassist Paul DiLeo (FOZZY) announced their departures from ADRENALINE MOB last month due to scheduling conflicts with their other projects.

In a recent interview with Metal Storm, guitarist Nige Rockett of British thrashers ONSLAUGHT was asked if he — as an artist — thinks that potentially harsh action, such as the controversial anti-piracy bills SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect Intellectual Property Act), should be taken to reduce online piracy. "Yeah, action has to be taken no doubt about that," he replied. "Theft from artists cannot be tolerated and cannot ever be taken for granted. We all work real hard to write and record music for the listening pleasure of others. It was never an issue before the Net, so why should it be allowed now? I do not necessarily agree with the way they are going about it by taking people's Internet away completely, but I believe the Internet providers should be held partially responsible for clamping down on the problem and policing their industry. Once the prosecutions of major online piracy sites begin, the problems will ease, I hope, for the sake of 'every' person who loves music. Why? Because if things continue in the current trend, music as we know it will cease to exist in as little as 10 years' time... No labels, no mags... just a bunch of young bands trying to promote themselves on the web, but nobody will know they are there or how to find them. There will never ever be another band that reaches the heights of METALLICA, AC/DC or VAN HALEN, etc. Flipside of the coin, labels need to help the situation by cutting the retail costs of CDs and DVDs; they are far too expensive by comparison to manufacturing costs and this surely fuels the amount of illegal downloads. I think there can be a compromise. I just hope it's real soon before it's too late."

ONSLAUGHT will cross the Atlantic for its first-ever North American tour in March. The three-week trek will see the band performing a setlist spanning all its studio albums — "Power From Hell", "The Force", "In Search Of Sanity", "Killing Peace" and their latest release, "Sounds Of Violence". Support on the dates will come from M-PIRE OF EVIL (formerly PRIMEVIL), the new band featuring former VENOM members Jeff "Mantas" Dunn (guitar) and Tony "The Demolition Man" Dolan (bass, vocals). Also appearing on the bill for some devastating dates on the U.S. West Coast will be EVILDEAD.

ONSLAUGHT recruited Michael Hourihan (EXTREME NOISE TERROR, DESECRATION) to play the drums following the 2011 departure of Steve Grice.

ONSLAUGHT's fifth album, "Sounds Of Violence", was released in January 2011 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Killing Peace" was recorded and mixed at Hansen Studio in Ribe, Denmark with acclaimed Danish producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, MERCENARY, VOLBEAT, HEAVEN SHALL BURN).

"I was lucky enough to find this killer drummer online. His name is Anup Sastry, I've seen him do these perfect drum covers on his YouTube page. I reached out and learned he plays in a few great bands as well. You should check out all the stuff he's done.

"Anup is based out in the D.C. area and brought in a friend of his, Greg Macklin, to do bass. Those guys are going to be getting together out there to start practicing the set. Joe and I will do the same over here and then a couple weeks before the tour, Joe and I will fly over Maryland and we'll all rehearse until we get things perfect.

10. Sibylline Origin

After Jeff's departure from NEVERMORE and the release of his solo debut — 2008's "Zero Order Phase" — fans have been craving a new album. With a number of influential musicians appearing on the upcoming release, Loomis is more than ready to deliver.

Jeff was the lead guitar player and main songwriter of NEVERMORE, a band that has certainly made its mark on modern music by forging a unique sound that fuses different forms of metal that has given birth to an authentic and very influential style. His solo CD, "Zero Order Phase", took the #4 spot in a April 2009 Guitar World magazine's readers' poll in the "Best Shred Album Of The Year" category — a notable accomplishment when you consider the top three vote-getters, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani. Jeff has become one of his generation's most recognizable guitarists and the source of many of the last decade's best riffs.

Jeff's complex shredding has been a central part of the progressive power guitar scene since 1992 and is responsible for some of the most awe-inspiring riffs modern metal has ever heard. Nearly every aspiring musician who has been listening to metal for the past 10 years or so has undoubtedly had the pleasure of hearing Jeff Loomis' progressive and technically superior playing.

Loomis' first solo album, "Zero Order Phase", was released in September 2008 through Century Media Records.

HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak has revealed the songtitles that will appear on his upcoming solo album, "The Metalworker", due later in the year. The CD features several instrumental tracks along with Mike's collaboration with vocal siren Carlos Zema, known for his previous work with Texas underground heroes OUTWORLD. Also making appearances on the CD are Kevin Talley (DAATH, CHIMAIRA, HATE ETERNAL) on drums and Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) on bass.

"The Metalworker" was produced by Chlasciak and was mixed by Orlando Villasenor at Dead Room Studio in San Antonio, Texas. The cover art was created by DarkMouth Design (HATEBREED, LEAVES' EYES, SIX FEET UNDER).

"I am psyched that 'The Metalworker' is nearing its release," says Mike. "It is a focused, no-apologies heavy metal record that features plowing riffs, soaring vocals and wicked double bass for days. Both Kevin and Mike killed it and I'm also very happy to have Carlos on vocals. I'm telling you, this guy is a serious powerhouse vocal talent."

"The Metalworker" will feature the following songs:

* On Leather Wings
* Don't Shoot The Crown
* Silence Of The Steel
* Tonight We Ride
* We Are The Cross
* This Is War
* M Is For Metal
* Hell No
* Weight Of The Heart

Talley previously stated about his involvement with "The Metalworker", "As a full-time studio drummer, it is sometimes overwhelming to constantly track ultra-technical brutal death metal songs. But, while tracking 'The Metalworker' album for Metal Mike, it reminds me why I got into metal in the first place … straight-forward brutal catchy riffs without any of the B.S. associated with most metal bands today. This is the 'meat and potatoes' of metal, if you will. It's not one of those 'Can I have a side salad, please?' type of bands. The album plows with killer riffage, ragin' leads, and ultra-sick double bass for days."

Toby Cook of The Quietus recently conducted an interview with guitarist Mark Morton of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

The Quietus: So Mark, given the success of "Wrath", was there an added sense of pressure when creating "Resolution"?

Mark Morton: I don't think so; not really, man. "Wrath" did really well for us, and it's exciting that the momentum has continued. But "Resolution" — if you count BURN THE PRIEST [the name under which LAMB OF GOD released its self-titled debut album in 1999], which I do, because we all kind of lived it — is our seventh studio record, and we've got to the point now where we certainly hope that our albums do well commercially, and it's nice when they do, but ultimately the goal remains to just respect the band and our sound and just write some songs that feel like where we are at this point in time. And that's always been the process, so to change it now, or to try and react to any response or the success of an album before, seems like it would be a mistake.

The Quietus: So as you said, for all intents and purposes, this is your seventh album and as a band you seem to be somewhat of an anomaly, where with each release and tour you seem to garner more fans, more respect, more acclaim. Why do you feel that that has been the case with your career?

Mark Morton: It's not only potentially awkward, but it's also pretty hard for me to answer that question, as I don't really know — I'm so inside of it. What I can tell you is that we're a very honest band, be it with our music, with our lyrics, with our interviews, with the access that, over the years, we've provided fans into who we are and what we do. There's not a lot of pretense. When we walk on stage, we look exactly like we do when we walk across the street to get a coffee. When we meet our fans, they find that we're really just like them. So I would speculate that some of those things have to do with the staying power and the level with which our fans connect to the music and to the band. But why it has grown and spread like it has? If I knew the answer to that, I could probably make a lot more money than I do… [laughs loudly and manically]

The Quietus: Do you ever take a minute, or catch yourself thinking that, y'know, 15-20 years ago you were just jamming in a garage, and now you're doing world tours and getting Grammy nominations?

Mark Morton: I do, yeah. You really do. Years ago I did a piece for a magazine we have in the states called Revolver, you know it?

The Quietus: Oh yeah, I know the one.

Mark Morton: They used to do a piece, they still do I think, where they have a young gun — which I was at the time, I'm certainly not anymore — interview a veteran and an influence. I got to interview Dave Mustaine [MEGADETH]. It was really, really cool. I hadn't yet met him, it was years before we wound up touring together and I could say I'd spent some time with him. I've forgotten what my question was but it alluded to: "What can you tell me about getting from where I am to where you are?" or some shit like that, but he said: "Make sure you look out of the side window, and see where you are and what's happening right now. Because so much, and so often, people such as ourselves get caught up looking forward, simply because that's the way the business is structured." We live off of calendars. Come January, I'm going to go on the road for 18 to 24 months, right? As a guitar player for LAMB OF GOD, I realize that those things are very important and there's going to be a lot of very amazing experiences that go along with that. As a father, as a husband, I realize that the balance to that is that there's a lot of things I'm going to be needed for that I'm just going to be absent for, and there's a lot of incredible experiences — some of the most important things in my life — that I'm going to miss, right? So, it's a balance. I don't expect an 18-year-old fan to understand that, and I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for me, I can stop whenever I want, it's a choice I make. It's the career I chose and choose to continue. But there are challenges that go along with it and there are balances that go along with it, and the way it's structured, as I was saying, is that everything is moving forward and you're always looking ahead to a certain point. Mr. Mustaine gave me some very profound advice, and that was to look out of the side window and see where you are; to take a minute, take a deep breath and soak it in, because you're never going to be at that spot again. I would say that advice applies to anyone, no matter what you do, we get so caught up as people, as a society, in trying to get more; to get ahead and to get bigger; to get richer and to get more successful; to get here and go there and we forget where we are. What led me to that rant was that you asked, do I ever stop and go, "Holy fuck, look at what we've done." And I try to, I really try to, because it's pretty remarkable that we've come as far as we have with the music that we make.

Brendon Small, co-creator of "Metalocalypse", the smash hit animated series on Adult Swim featuring the fictitious metal band DETHKLOK, will release his first "solo" album, "Brendon Small's Galaktikon", later this year. The cover art for the CD, which was designed by Antonio Canobbio, can be seen below.

In a July 2011 interview with Revolver magazine, Small was asked at what point he decided it was time to make a solo record. "There was a time when I didn't know if I was going to do the second DETHKLOK album," he said. "I had the studio lined up, and the players lined up, and the engineer and co-producer, and all that shit, and unfortunately, the guy we were negotiating with went on vacation and left things kind of dead. So I said, 'OK, fuck this — I'm going to spend my own money and get these guys doing something.'

"I love melody and I love melodic vocals in metal, not just the guttural stuff — though obviously it works with DETHKLOK, and I wouldn't want to change a thing. I long for melody in the vocal.

"When I was developing the DETHKLOK sound, some of the things I was writing weren't heavy enough for DETHKLOK, but I still liked them. So I was like, I'm going to make this into something, so I'm going to get Gene [Hoglan] and I'm going to get Bryan Beller, and we're going to make this project, and I'm going to figure out what it is. Then the negotiations got all cleared up, and we went right back into the same studio and did the second DETHKLOK album."

Regarding whether those non-DETHKLOK songs eventually became the basis for "Brendon Small's Galaktikon", Small said, Yeah. I had all these songs where there were elements of QUEEN, but also elements of FOO FIGHTERS and SMASHING PUMPKINS, with some DIO elements as well. My kind of rule for the record was, it's going to be whatever it ends up being, and I'm going to tell a story through the whole thing. Once I started putting the pieces together, I found the story, and I realized that, OK, this is a high-stakes, intergalactic, extreme rock album. And if I do this right, it's going to be like an audio comic book. It's turned out to be something that I'm really happy to have done because I flexed a different muscles while making it — but if you're one of the kids who liked DETHKLOK, you're going to be able to tell that it's the same dude playing guitar, and Gene Hoglan on drums and Bryan Beller on bass. DETHKLOK has to be a certain kind of sound, but this other thing is whatever it needs to be. I got to pull out a vocoder and do ELO-style things here and there, and there's an instrumental on there that's a total tribute to Vai and Satriani and Yngwie and Steve Morse.

Norwegian hard rockers WIG WAM will release a new single, "Wall Street", on February 24 via Frontiers Records. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album with the same title, to be made available this spring.

"Wall Street" is the story of a musician who trades his guitar for a company brand to make his fortune in the stock market. According to a press release, "It's got the recipe of a great WIG WAM 'smash hit' and is everything you expect from these guys!"

WIG WAM's third studio album, "Non Stop Rock 'N' Roll", came out in 2010 and was the band's first LP to be released simultaneously in Europe and Japan. The effort was certified gold in Norway, and saw WIG WAM touring in support of it all around the world, including in USA, Japan and Europe.

Greek extreme metallers ROTTING CHRIST have released the following statement:

"One Thousand and One nights marauding the earth.

"The long, glorious and mystical journey of the band through the decades of its existence reaches a cumulative point with our 1000th show!

"One thousand majestic nights marauding the earth will be marked with the band's appearance at the Nuclear War Now! Festival [in Berlin, Germany] in November. The occasion will be celebrated with a very special setlist that will be performed, in all probability, by the first-ever official ROTTING CHRIST lineup, including Mutilator and Magus, playing songs exclusively from their first three albums and demos.

"Until then…

"I name you under our cult."

ROTTING CHRIST's latest album, "Aealo", came out in March 2010. The CD was recorded at Lunatach Studios in Katerini, Greece and features guest appearances by Greek-American vocalist Diamanda Galas and PRIMORDIAL frontman Alan A. Nemtheanga.

Due to unforeseen visa issues, California ministers of gore EXHUMED have been forced to cancel their previously scheduled dates in Brazil this week with ABORTED.

Comments EXHUMED vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey: "We are totally weakened to have to cancel our Brazilian dates. Due to our visa applications getting rejected, we cannot legally enter the country at this time — in fact, they threatened to ban us from being there for a decade. We are doing everything we can to reschedule these dates as soon as possible.

"Due to the bullshit policies of U.S. immigration/customs and Brazilian customs' policy of reciprocity, our visas were refused by the Brazilian consulate before even being processed.

"We seriously and very sincerely apologize to all our friends in Brazil who wanted to see the band. We will do everything in our power to work with our agent, the promoter, and the immigration assholes in the U.S. and Brazil to get this squared away. This is a serious bummer. We will spend the extra week before heading to Europe looking at hot Brazilian chicks on the Internet instead of in real life and being really, really pissed off."

Affected dates: (Note: All shows will go ahead with ABORTED and local acts.)

Feb. 16 - Beco 203 @ Porto Alegre, Brazil
Feb. 17 - Belo Horizonte @ Music Hall, Brazil
Feb. 18 - São Paulo @ Hangar 110, Brazil
Feb. 19 - Curitiba @ Hangar Music Hall, Brazil
Feb. 20 - Armazém do Café @ Catanduva, Brazil

EXHUMED will kick off the 16-date "Grind Over Europe Tour" with ROTTEN SOUND and MAGRUDERGRIND on February 24 then join ANAAL NATHRAKH for a short run of U.K. dates. From there, the band will take their audio menace stateside for a handful of headlining shows before jumping on a near month-long bout of U.S. dates with death metal icons CANNIBAL CORPSE. Joined by Relapse labelmates ABYSMAL DAWN and ARKAIK, the live rituals will commence on April 5 in Jacksonville, Florida and include an appearance at the Cincinnati Metal Fest on April 14 as well as a special show on April 28 where the brutal caravan will merge with the Decibel magazine tour featuring BEHEMOTH, WATAIN, THE DEVIL'S BLOOD and IN SOLITUDE.

Queens, New York-based deathcore act EMMURE will release its fifth full-length album, "Slave To The Game", on April 10 via Victory Records. The CD was recorded with producer Joey Sturgis (ASKING ALEXANDRIA, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA), who previously worked with the band on last year's "Speaker Of The Dead".

Commented EMMURE vocalist Frankie Palmeri: "Victory Records is the big reason why EMMURE's been able to continuously connect to our fans, and our fans are the number one reason why we're still here today and continue to do what we do."

"Slave To The Game" will mark the recording debut of EMMURE's new drummer, Mark Costillo, who has previously played with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and BURY YOUR DEAD.

Commented EMMURE guitarist Jesse Ketive: "Mark Costillo has been a good friend for a few years now.

"Mark approached us as he heard through the grapevine that EMMURE needed a helping hand, so at that point I chatted with him about possibly recording our new CD and playing some shows. After jamming the set a few times, we all decided that Mark was the perfect fit for us and undoubtedly should be our new drummer. He is the utmost professional and his work on the new effort in going to really help us bring everything to another level. Everyone better watch out."

A teaser video for "Slave To The Game" can be seen below. Also available is the CD artwork.

EMMURE will support "Slave To The Game" with a full North American tour this spring, hitting 31 cities with WE CAME AS ROMANS and more beginning in March. The band was recently added to this year's Bamboozle lineup for the May 19 date.

On October 29, 2007, a tour bus accident claimed the life of DECAPITATED drummer Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka, and gravely injured the band's lead singer, Adrian "Covan" Kowanek, who has yet to make a full recovery.

After he underwent what was deemed to be "successful" neurosurgery, a 36-hour pharmacological coma ended with Covan suffering a cardiac arrest and diffuse cerebral hypoxia (wherein brain impairment occurs due to low blood oxygen levels) because of alleged "medical negligence." Covan returned home after another six months of treatment in October 2008. Since then, Covan has made vast improvements, but still is unable to communicate and care for himself and requires 24-hour care.

A four-and-a-half-minute video report from Poland's national television station TVP on Covan's current medical status can be seen below. The report itself is in Polish, but English subtitles are available by clicking on the "CC" button below the video's progress bar.

33 bands from the Polish rock and metal scenes took part in a charity tour, "Covan Wake The Fuck Up Tour 2012", to help Covan.

At each concert there was a merchandise sale of a special "Covan Wake The Fuck Up" collection. All proceeds from these sales and ticket sales were supposed to be transferred to directly to Adrian's family.

Avant-garde black metal act FORMLOFF will release its new album, "Spyhorelandet", in North America on March 12 via Eisenwald. The follow-up to 2006's "Adjø Silo" finds the eclectic Norwegian duo — Bernt Karsten Sannerud and Marius Sjøli – exploring the darker, more atmospheric realms of their past. Several session musicians were recruited to complete the nine-track recording, including two bass players, a drummer and a saxophonist.

Where most black metal revels in stories of fictional deities, benign and malignant, "Spyhorelandet" wallows in everyday themes. Much like the cover art, the music contained within bears the stark truth: When you peel back the skin, no matter how beautiful, what is left is the ugly personal histories each of us carries. Throughout "Spyhorelandet", naked inhabitants of our world are quoted directly. For many, defeat is their best and sometimes only asset.

In celebration of the record's upcoming release, Decibel magazine is currently streaming the title cut, "Spyhorelandet", noting "the track definitely sounds refreshing, as if gulping down fresh glacial streams after a half-decade of parched post-whatever, atavistic too-true-for-school black, or the floating-on-toilet bowl-water bullshit employed by the high-lo mind/musically daft of Liturgy, et al."

"Spyhorelandet" track listing:

01. Det Dritet Som Renner Ut I Ua
02. Harde Ord På Kammerset
03. Spyhorelandet
04. Faen!
05. Mig Og Drit
06. Skævven
07. Kon-Tiki Museet Brenner
08. Den Gamle Jorda
09. Drokkne I Ei Flo Ta Åske
