Artist specific list are a touchy beast as well. I used to belong to a couple Cooper lists, which were good in the old days of the 'net. Mostly because it was nice connecting with a bunch of like minded goofs. Old music was fondly discussed, new stuff was critiqued and concert reviews always welcomed. Problems cropped up, the lack of new topics coupled with the inevitable personality conflicts led to nitpicking and scrapping. The best of the bunch was shut down by the owner, and he then reopened it to be a newsletter that accepts contributions, but not discussion.
I'd like to keep things musically related, but not immune from friendly banter and some off topic stuff. The list needs to keep it kid friendly, partly because we have had some younger folks joining, but also because its just not necessary to good discussion.

I don't think anything 'happened', its just the nature of the list beast.
Lots of talk in the beginning, then lots of fighting, then the talking
begins to slow down to a nice amount. Problem is the nice amount has been
dwindling as well.
Unfortunately, the scope of this list, by virtue of its title, is somewhat
limited. I know that in the beginning, the guys who created the list wanted
it to be kept to strictly 'Classic Rock' discusionas. That was fine for a
time, but I think alot of the topics that have been brought up here, have
been beaten to death and folks just got tired of it.
I've considered changing up this group. The original guys have left the
building, so there's consitution regarding which way the group could move.
Personally, Classic Rock will always be important to me, but music as a
whole is still my passion, I have never stuck to one genre as my only
interest.
Actually, I'm completely open to suggestions on improvements/changes
