Re: [Classic_Rock_Forever] Man can not live by I-pod alone.

It can't be trash. No matter what anybody tells me, its the music that counts. The rest is overhead. Sure, I remember sitting down pouring over the record jacket while the turntable spun. Those were good times, but I don't think I'd ever go back to it.

I still like owning the physical medium, but the more I gather, the more I find it a struggle to find a place for them. I don't see me moving to strictly a file system in the near future, but I do know that the vinyl that I've been trucking around with me for 30+ years is not as attractive as it once was and as I convert them, I'm considering selling or doing whatever needs to be done to free up the space.

My stuff is spread out over 2 laptops, an external harddrive and a sh*tload of cd's and cdr's. The ipod that follows me about is just the tip of the iceberg.

My project for this winter is to get everything together, in one place and actually organize the mess.

To add to this situation is the fact that I'm busy moving all my old vinyl into a digital format. I'm finding all sorts of stuff that I bought back in the day that is now somewhat forgotten.

I'd gladly loose the ipod for something that wasn't married to itunes. It's not that bad, so I'll be relatively patient until some little unit comes on the market that does everything I want it to do.

awwww darn--need to recharge it again, already. Oh yes, I must confess to all--I am an I-pod junkie (hangs his head in shame). I find the radio does not fill the void, CD's are just a short term fix. My I-pod (hear harps play) is my link to real music. ITs memory hold the demi-gods of rock, await my every wish. But wait---will there be a day when I no longer need it. I pray not---but untill then--what can a poor boy do (Sounds too Rolling Stone-ish) So I ask you--What does everyone else do for music fix ?
