Will try to track down some of Bowie's albums [PinUps, Live, Station To Station] and give him a listen. I may possibly even have one of his albums ..... but I don't think so.

You might look for an album called Pin Ups. Bowie covers a bunch of familiar other peoples songs in a new way. Of course that annoyed as many people as found it interesting....

I should give Bowie a listen.I say that because so many of the greats that I really like and appreciate now [Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Neil Young, etc] I didn't especially care for 30 or 40 years ago. Perhaps Bowie will be the same ??BobKOn 2011-08-03, at 9:23 AM, Cfh wrote:My brother dug into Bowie in a major way, so I got to benefit from having the library at hand without having to buy it myself. I can't say everything of his appeals to me, but alot of it did/does. I think it was either Diamond Dogs, or David Live that was the breakthrough for me. The live album is top drawer, no question, but Diamond Dogs was a loose concept that borrowed some words/thoughts from my favourite author at the time (Orwell) and that kept my interest long enough to learn to appreciate the music.Later on albums like Station to Station became standards in my rotation.ClintFrom: bkushner@mcsnet.caSent: Tuesday, August 02, 2011 11:16 PMSubject: Re: [Classic_Rock_Forever] Re: Top 5 Favourite Records for August
I never got into Bowie and don't listen to him at all. I know there were/are some real Bowie fans out there .... but I just wasn't one of them.
