I too preferred CSNY to CSN

I didn't really listen to Young when he went solo until many years later. Now I appreciate his talent and know why he gets the respect from his peers that he does.

CSN generally sucks. CSNY is tolerable. Neil Young is great.

Just my opinion.

I didn't listen to Neil until a roommate of mine started playing stuff on his guitar one night in fall of 1979. He played Old Man, and a few others. I had never heard the songs before, and asked him if they were original comps. He laughed at me and informed that these were Neil Young tunes, which was kinda funny to him since I was the Canadian in the crowd with a bunch of Americans and they were teaching me about this guy that they assumed I was knowledgeable of.
The interesting thing is that this was when Rust Never Sleeps came out and I decided to pay more attention to him. Loved Rust immediately, especially the electric side. I began looking into him and listened to his back catalogue. Loved alot of it, but honestly I was much more interested in his louder side, than his softer side. Decade was a great source for me. Still do prefer electric/loud Neil.
His stuff with CSNY is okay, but I'd be just as happy if he dropped the CSN part of the group ; )

I have to admit, although I was around for the music of the 60's and 70's I didn't really enjoy or appreciate Neil Young back then but I certainly do now. This man has given us some great music whether solo or in groups like Crosby-Stills-Nash-Young.

Although not a huge Who fan, I still enjoyed them. Have no trouble listening to the Who from time to time.

Have always liked John Lennon [and George Harrison]. I like most of Lennon's albums but if I had to pick just one I think it would be Double Fantasy [minus Yoko].

I never got into Bowie and don't listen to him at all. I know there were/are some real Bowie fans out there .... but I just wasn't one of them.

I was listening to Marc Bolan and T-Rex only a few days ago. Like watching some of the videos on youtube but unfortunately quality of most is poor. I really enjoy T-Rex and listening to them brings back a lot of good memories.
