There was actually an article out recently, although I cannot remember where that said the band was ready now to get back in the studio. The postponement of the tour pushed that time in studio back. Whether that means a year or two was not clear, but they are preparing. As far as arena tours, I can see a possible combination like they did with ZooTV, playing arenas early, but then spending a summer in stadiums. When the 360 tour first hit the states, the comment was the stage set up could pull 60,000 or more people in like an arena, and it would allow them to do fewer shows. As an example, in Chicago, they can play 4 nights to a total of 80,000 or play one or two nights at Soldier field and have more people see them. And fewer shows saves their voices and their energy. I am more curious to see how they top this tour.

Next year or two? They'll be resting at home or doing other things for probably the next 3-4 years. I've been lucky enough to see them on their last five tours and they seem to begin new tours once every four years. Zoo TV Tour: Spring 1992, Pop Mart Tour: Spring 1997, Elevation Tour: Spring 2001, Vertigo Tour: Spring 2005 and 360 Tour Summer 2009. Going by this pattern and based on the fact that this tour was probably more exhausting then the others (due to Bono's back problems, etc), I'll bet we won't see them tour until Spring 2014. That's my personal guess. But, who knows.
