I was driving Glen Campbell.
The World Wildlife Fund was putting on a performance at "The Talk of the Town" in the Westend.
He was to meet the Queen prior to the performance.
My boss gave me a brand new Jaguar for the job. This surprised me a bit. He said "you will understand later"
I took Glen into Buckingham Palace and waited at the bottom of some steps as he AND! Bob Hope shook hands with the queen.
A police motorcycle special told me as they did so that they were the last ones to see her. We would be moving very quickly up Piccadily to the theatre to ensure that the Queen didn't beat us to the venue.
Both artists got into the car..... Now I knew why Mike gave me this Jaguar...lol.. The road was clear for the Queens car. This meant that I was able to touch 90mph along Piccadily. Probably the only one ever!
At the venue Bob Hope tucked what I thought was a 10 dollar into my pocket. It was a 100 dollar note Phew!!
$100 for a 3 minute run......It don't come better.
