Music: [u2tour] Montreal July 8,9 Where to Stay....

Here's a question for ppl going to the upcoming shows and familiar w Montreal....Where are you staying? Is there anything to see around the Hippodrome or are you better off staying closer to downtown or old Montreal? Google street view of the Hippodrome looks like a strip mall to me, so I'm not sure there will be anything to do around there....

These are the first U2 shows I may actually line up for, so staying around the venue might make sense...I know this question gets asked a million times but if you have GA, how early would you expect to be at the venue to get a good spot IN Montreal....I imagine the setup might be different than usual b/c they're building the grands stands specifically for the show....

I'm heading up on the 7th...We're having dinner in old Montreal on the 7th, so we we thinking of book a hotel in old Montreal on the 7th and changing hotels to one closer to the Hippodrome the next two nights....Hotels around the Hippodrome are much cheaper too, compared to downtown..

Would appreciate any tips...

Then after Montreal....I get to see them in Toronto!!!
