They werent the same guys in 1962 that they were in 1969. They grew in different directions and the stress of everything they went thru, no band could survive that. A friend of mine, Beatles freak who has read everything ever written about them, and every interview he could get his hands on, believes John Lennon was a true rebel in every sense of the word... and he thinks part of Lennon always wanted out of the band as soon as it became a successs... that there was a self-destructive streak in him from day one.
