Pretty Much Official: U2's 360 Tour Will End in Moncton

When it comes to Live Nation, U2, and the way tour dates have been announced on the 360 tour, it seems things are always subject to change. U2 fans can be forgiven for not believing phrases like "final night of the tour" or "last show" and things like that. But it seems more clear that the U2 360 tour will, in fact, have its final show in Moncton on July 30.

The most recent evidence came in one of Willie Williams' recent U2.com diary entries:

As it is, we now go until the end of July where U2360 will take the final curtain call at Moncton in north-eastern Canada.

That's pretty definitive. Equally certain is this excerpt from last week's Live Nation news release announcing that the U2 360 tour had become the highest grossing tour ever:

With 26 shows left before the tour finishes in Canada on July 30, U2 360 will also set a new record as the top grossing tour of all time, with final ticket sales due to surpass $700 million.

Also very definitive. Somewhat less certain was the U2 360 roadie interview on U2tour.de, in which Arne de Knegt said "as far as we know" the last show is Moncton. That's similar to what Edge said last month on Irish radio: "I think we're probably gonna pack up the U2 claw after the American shows. I doubt if -- but you can never say never."

It seems like Edge and Arne might be a bit hesitant to say when the tour will end, which makes sense given all the changed and re-arranged dates. But Willie and Live Nation are much more definitive, so let's just say that it's "pretty much official" about Moncton being the end of the road.
