When I was young, Bob was more of a curiousity than anything. The early stuff had that quirky voice of his. Since I've always been a fan of character voices, his was just one more to add to the list. Then some of the songs started to connect with me. Alot of them were from my early elementary school days. I had some teachers who were of the 60's culture and liked to have us sing along with stuff like 'Blowing in the Wind'. The versions were much smoother than Bob's though, usually done by folky's who were making a go of it covering his and others music.

if i could only pick one song to try and somehow define Dylan (which is practically impossible) I'd pick Blowin in the Wind. It always moved me, and theres a bunch of groovy remakes by a bunch of people,.. it must have moved them, too
