For the Best and for the Onion
Elhadj Magori Sani, Niger, 2008, 52min.
Yaro's daughter Salamatou is betrothed to Adamou. The couple hopes to marry soon, but after each harvest, Yaro postpones the wedding waiting to be able to pay the expenses tradition demands.
 

 
Bondo: A Journey into Kono Womanhood

The filmmaker reflects on her initiation as a young girl into Bondo, a women's traditional society. The film delves into issues of cultural pride, women's power, as well as Western and local views on female circumcision.

Besouro is the emotional true story of the legendary capoeira fighter from Bahia, who was rumored to fly and leads an uprising of agricultural workers against an exploitative landowner.
