Jeff was on tour back in the late 90's, and he ended up with a spare date while on a western swing. There was a fund raising event out in White City, small bedroom comm of Regina, and somehow somebody talked his management into booking him into this hockey rink. We were already planning to go with the expectation of seeing a local band 'Ralph Ell and the Hardcore Troubabdours' as the headliner.
The news that Healy would be there was a rather nice bonus...no shit.
Openers were good, Ralph and company were fun as always, crowd was kinda rowdy and full of themselves, however when the headliners took the stage the place took on a whole new tone.
The pub and dance event turned into a concert, with the crowd crushing in on the stage. Just watching him was amazing. That style of guitar seemed awkward to watch at first, but as he started to wail, the place just drank it up.

He was outstanding. The only time I saw him "live" was in a terrible movie called Roadhouse, but him and his band were great. I've never seen anybody play guitar like that and probably never will again. I got one of his albums, "See the Light", which I used to listen to a lot.

Okay, I'm on a roll here. This is Jeff circa 1989, doing All Along the Watchtower, live in London. The guy was amazing. I was lucky enough to see him in concert once. Managed to stand about 8 feet from his chair, the place was mesmerized.
