[oddmusic] Vibration Speakers?

Has anyone bought/used one of these types of things before?

SoundBug Speaker<http://www.amazon.com/Olympia-SoundBug-Ultra-Portable-System-1-Speaker/dp/B00006IFT1>
Imu Vibrating Speaker<http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energy-Crystal-Speaker-Mobile-Portable/dp/B002XDX6EY/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291890740&sr=1-1-fkmr1>
VibeHolic Vibrating
Speaker<http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bunkerbound-Vibeholic-Vibrating-Speaker-System/dp/B003M7PH9M>

The last two look newer and from I've seen online sound better.

I know they're not the loudest, clearest sounding things, but I'm interested
in using one on an acoustic drum as the resonator, for electronic
instruments on my drumset <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS-v0NzO-1s>.

In reading a bunch about Nic Collins Trombone Propelled
Electronics<http://www.nicolascollins.com/texts/TrombonePropelledElectronics.pdf>it
got me wanted to try localizing the sounds to the acoustic drums
themselves.

Also, does anyone know how these things work? As it would be cool trying to
DIY one (or several!)
