In 2010, Cine Mosaic and Focus Features announced the production of "Fela", the movie. The film will be directed by Britain's Steve McQueen and will star actor Chiwetel Ejiofor as Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Anikulapo-Kuti . The screenplay is an adaptation of the book Fela, The Life and Times of an African Musical Icon by Michael Veal.
