For the 3rd year running, the highly focused music industry conference will hold
again this year on Wednesday 15th of December, 2010 at the White House , Ikeja
Lagos.
The theme of the conference, "Cutting-Edge Strategies For A Challenging Music
Industry" would also explore issues: The menace of piracy, Alternative digital
distribution, emerging markets, the business side of the game, and survival
strategies - envisioned to build professionalism, while opening up new
opportunities for artistes, and practitioners within the global entertainment
industry. The event, held under the auspices of Tenstrings Music Institute, and
AllMusicBank.com, Africa's first music community shall also hold a world press
briefing Lagos, as part of its activities culminating its public unveiling.
Preamble.
The recent global music business climate has continued to stimulate interests
amidst paradigm shifts that came with internet based music streaming,
downloading, digital distribution and file sharing.
In recent times, there has been an explosive growth in the sector with the ready
availability of technology and easier access to affordable digital recording
gadgets which is responsible for proliferation of clandestine record labels and
unregulated, but vibrant market. The urgent need for capacity and incentives
that could bring about positive change and growth is at no other time, crucial
than now, thus necessitating a collective think-tank, to incubate an enabling
environment that is not only at par with global standard, but one that would
fast track the integration of the creative and intellectual property sectors
into national consciousness with an hindsight to contributing to the Millennium
Development Goals (MDG's)
The highlight of the event include a masterclass presentation by Swedish based
Caleb Osasona, AllMusicBank.com Founder and Chief strategist. Notable amongst
guests and resource persons expected at the conference are Cobhams Asuquo, MI,
Tayo Adepetu, Femi Aderibigbe, Dele Abiodun, Ben Murray Bruce, Onyeka Onwenu,
