both those two albums are beyond excellent, I bought them when they were "the new album". I think Hurricane was a high water mark of his career; he followed that with the huge Rolling thunder review tour (featuring Mick Ronson on electric guitar; Mick was quoted at the time saying, "everything I've done before this is bullsh*t""... curious, to say the least)
anyway, the Rolling Thunder got some big press, a movie, and an ABC prime time TV special; America gathered around the water cooler the next morning and mostly talked about Dylans weird make-up and ugly teeth... and a live album, which wasnt bad either
some time after that, he made waves with his Saved and Slow train Coming albums, a lot of people were turned off by that
