The 2012 edition of The Sunflower Jam will take place on Sunday, September 16 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. The evening, hosted by actor Jeremy Irons, will consist of many very special performances from confirmed artists such as Bruce Dickinson (IRON MAIDEN), Ian Paice (DEEP PURPLE), Mark King, Alfie Boe, Brian May (QUEEN) and Kerry Ellis and John Paul Jones (LED ZEPPELIN).
Jacky Paice, wife of Ian Paice, set up The Sunflower Jam charity in 2006 to help people treat cancer within the UCLH (University College London Hospitals). Now the charity raises acceptance of an integrated approach in medical treatment. By educating, supporting, informing and developing services around patient-centric care, and by bringing together doctors, health professionals, scientists and patients, alongside an array of musicians who not only perform but support the cause, the organizers aim to create a wider network of support and raise awareness through their event.
The charity will work by supporting initiatives set up to bridge the gap between integrated, functional and conventional medicine with a natural approach to wellness for children, young people, adults and their families with a range of acute and chronic emotional, mental and physical conditions.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Los Angeles judge threw out GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose's fraud claim against game publisher Activision Blizzard, Inc. for using a GUNS song in its "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" video game, but allowed Rose's breach-of-contract claim to continue, setting up a potential trial next February.
Rose claimed in his $20 million lawsuit that the company's use of the GUNS song "Welcome To The Jungle" in Guitar Hero III violated an agreement the publisher made with him not to use any images of former GUNS guitarist Slash in the game.
The suit, filed in November 2010 in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleged that Activision persuaded Rose to authorize the use of "Jungle" by telling him that the game would not feature any reference or mention of not only Slash, but his post-GUNS band VELVET REVOLVER. According to the suit, "(Activision) began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and GUNS N' ROSES and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle'."

A British man who won £148 million (approximately $232 million) in Friday's (August 10) EuroMillions lottery draw has said he wants to spend some of that money reuniting the original lineup of GUNS N' ROSES.
Adrian Bayford, a 41-year-old music shop owner, told The Sun, "I think I would just have to get GUNS N' ROSES together — the original lineup, mind. I'm a real fan."
Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash told CNN's Piers Morgan in May that no amount of money could ever get the original GUNS N' ROSES to reunite. Slash explained, "I don't think it's a matter of that; it really isn't. I think you've got a situation where nobody involved wants to revisit. It's not just me — it's the whole band. And so I don't think there's a price tag that anybody's put in front of us that's going to make that work."
Asked about the kinds of offers the band has gotten to get back together for a tour, Slash replied, "I've heard a lot of numbers, but I've never been handed a specific offer. But I'd say it starts off with seven figures and then sometimes it starts to get even more grandiose than that."
GUNS N' ROSES was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April, with Slash and several other original and later members of the group performing. Missing, however, was singer Axl Rose, who declined to attend.

Joe Reinartz of Pollstar, the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry, has published a new interview with QUEENSRŸCHE drummer Scott Rockenfield and guitarist Michael Wilton regarding their legal battle with singer Geoff Tate over the band's name. An excerpt from the chat follows below.
Pollstar: Geoff's agency has told us how he can present himself onstage. Would you, first, agree that it has been settled as to how he can present himself?
Scott: No, I haven't heard any of that.
Pollstar: We were asked to list him as "QUEENSRŸCHE Starring Geoff Tate - The Original Voice."
Scott: To be honest, we haven't followed or gotten a lot of that information. What we're doing — we're going on with QUEENSRŸCHE. There was an injunction that Geoff tried to place in front of the courts a few weeks back. He was trying to stop us from using the name QUEENSRŸCHE and continuing to do business as such. We won that court case. It was denied that we had to stop using the name. So, in that, we are now moving on as the official QUEENSRŸCHE. It's Michael, Eddie [Jackson, bass], me, Parker Lundgren who plays guitar with us and our new singer, Todd La Torre. We just did our first show as the new QUEENSRŸCHE two weekends ago, here in the States, and we have more shows being booked throughout the world. Next year we're going out and doing a big tour that's going to be the "Return To History" tour for QUEENSRŸCHE, which is going to be focusing on our great, old classic material. We're moving on. What Geoff chooses to do will be in Geoff's hands. Our main focus is to do what we are doing and take it from there. But I personally haven't paid a lot of attention to what's going on over there; it's not really important to me right now.

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine, who recently made headlines when he told Canadian television and radio personality George Stroumboulopoulos that he is certain that Barack Obama "was born somewhere else than America," has now gone even further in his condemnation of the current president.
During MEGADETH's August 7 performance at Fort Canning in Singapore, Mustaine took an opportunity to address the crowd after someone threw a shoe onstage. The four-minute speech, which can be seen below, began innocently enough, with the frontman calling out the person that threw the shoe ("that's what happens when cousins fuck") and playfully making fun of a fan who kept interrupting him during his speech. He then launched into a brief rant against Obama, saying, "Back in my country, my president [makes puking sign with his finger in his mouth], he's trying to pass a gun ban, so he's staging all of these murders, like the 'Fast And Furious' thing down at the border; [the massacre in] Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there; and now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple [near Milwaukee, Wisconsin]."
He continued, "I was talking to J.D., our promoter here tonight… What a great guy. I was saying, 'I don't know where I'm gonna live if America keeps going the way it's going because it looks like it's turning into Nazi America. And he said, 'Move down here to Singapore.'"

Former IRON MAIDEN singers Blaze Bayley and Paul Di'Anno will join forces for a tour of Australia and New Zealand in November/December. Blaze says, "I have never been to Australia or New Zealand before, so I'm very excited. I also have family there that I have never met, so it makes the whole tour even better. Of course, I will be signing after every show where it is possible, and I will try to meet you all and sign things before the show if I have to rush off after the show."

Also, when I had my full-time band, it was exclusive. No one in the band could do anything else, and that included me. There was a lot of things that I wanted to try, but I couldn't do it as I was committed to staying with my full-time band. This offer came up, and I had done a couple of festivals on the same bill as Paul, and it was offered as a co-headliner, not as a support, switching the headliner every night. Paul was also OK with that and it also wasn't just all my MAIDEN stuff — it was a lot of my stuff from my own albums — so I could choose my setlist, to a certain degree, and also include my popular MAIDEN material also. It felt good to do it and say yes! It was also in Russia, a very difficult place to get into. The fans are great but it's very difficult to get in touch with them. Sometimes even to let them know that you are playing! I thought that it would be an opportunity for me, but on my last trip, there was poor promotion; I hardly played to anybody. I thought this time it would be different as all the shows were full, reaction was great and I played to a lot of new people. These people knew about me from IRON MAIDEN but had never seen me live. I came away from the tour after playing to my target audience and new people who had never previously seen me live; it was really good, Paul and I both enjoyed it."
Bayley added, "[Di'Anno is] a very funny guy with a dry sense of humor and we gave each other plenty of space, as we are both experienced with different opinions of IRON MAIDEN. It worked well.

Maryland rockers CLUTCH have commenced work on their new studio album. The band is currently in pre-production and is shooting to have the album out in early 2013.
Due to overwhelming demand, CLUTCH has added two shows to its short run this November. With both the Flint, Michiganand Detroit, Michigan shows sold out, the band has added an additional show to each city. The new show in Flint at the Machine Shop is scheduled for October 31 and the new show in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall is scheduled for November 4. Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Friday, August 17. MONSTRO will be opening all of the dates with LIONIZE providing direct support.

With both the Flint, Michiganand Detroit, Michigan shows sold out, the band has added an additional show to each city. The new show in Flint at the Machine Shop is scheduled for October 31 and the new show in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall is scheduled for November 4. Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Friday, August 17. MONSTRO will be opening all of the dates with LIONIZE providing direct support.

Asked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for SANCTUARY's "comeback" album — tentatively titled "The Year The Sun Died" — Dane said, "We've got so much stuff written that it's hard to sort through, but we played two new songs today [during the Bloodstock Open Air performance]. And it definitely wasn't because NEVERMORE was imploding... which it was, at that point . . . We all just started talking with each other again. That was kind of the groundwork for it. And then we started saying, 'Well, gosh, let's make music again.' And my god! Lenny is writing some stuff that is so friggin great! Obviously, he's been bottling this up for years, because he really hasn't been doing anything... Well, he's had bands here and there. But he's really writing some great stuff that's really inspiring me, and making me fall in love with music again, with the creative process... everything that revolves around that. Really inspiring me to write really evil lyrics."
Regarding the sound of SANCTUARY's upcoming studio album, Dane said, "This record is not going to sound like the other two. It might sound very similar to the second one ('Into The Mirror Black'). It's definitely not going to sound like the first one, because we're all a little bit older and I can't come up with a c-clamp for a scrotum and a helium tank . . . It's not going to sound like the old ones... it's 2011. It's still gonna be that good, I think, and there's gonna be high-pitched screaming. I'm making sure of that. The federal court issued its ruling on Monday (August 13) on the request made by ex-KYUSS members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder that it enjoin former bandmates John Garcia and Brant Bjork from using the name KYUSS LIVES!
Garcia, Bjork and ex-KYUSS bassist Nick Oliveri reunited for shows last year under the KYUSS LIVES! banner, in which they were joined by guitarist Bruno Fevery. The band has since toured on both sides of the Atlantic and was said to be planning a live album as well as a new studio CD.
Homme and Reeder filed a lawsuit against their former bandmates in March, claiming that they "made every attempt to help [Garcia and Bjork] continue KYUSS LIVES! respectfully. Only to discover while they looked us in the eye, KYUSS LIVES! management and band had filed federal documents in 2011 in an attempt to steal the name KYUSS. This is desperately what we were trying to avoid."
In his ruling, the judge said that the new band may not use "the Kyuss mark in any capacity unless the word 'Lives' follows the word 'Kyuss' in equally prominent lettering," He also prohibited KYUSS LIVES! from using the name "in conjunction with any studio album, live album, or other audio recording." The judge also warned the members of KYUSS LIVES! that "future concerts under the Kyuss Lives mark might continue to subject them to liability for trademark infringement" and suggested, "It may be in Defendants' best interest to begin re-branding under a new name."

The series would not resemble "American Idol" or any other show devoted to amateur contestants, but would instead focus on live performances from popular, professional artists. The ratings are on Farrell's side: awards shows like the Grammys continue to post strong numbers thanks to impressive lineups of live performers, while late night talk shows and morning news programs, along with "Saturday Night Live", also benefit from having musical acts perform their latest hits live.

Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz of Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE recently spoke to AltPress.com about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's new album, tentatively due in early 2013.
"We've done basics for 16 songs, and we've got some vocal ideas down for two of them," Adam says of the follow-up to 2009's "Killswitch Engage" effort. "When we get [off the road] in September, we'll put the finishing touches on the other 14. The two are just about completed. One of them actually leaked already somehow. Somebody at the record company who is an absolute idiot did it. The only bummer about it was the fact that it's just not done. It would have been nice to have something a little more complete leak."
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has been performing the song that leaked, "No End In Sight", during the band's "Trespass America" tour with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, TRIVIUM, EMMURE and more. Adam says, "We're working out the kinks since we've barely played it as a full group, so the more we play it, the tighter it will feel. Kids seem to be responding to it pretty well, and I think we're playing in front of a lot of new faces this tour, so it's kind of a cool reaction, anyway. A lot of people just not really knowing what to expect out of us. It's pretty cool."
Regarding how the new material came together, Adam says, "We all try to come up with ideas on our own and then bring them to the table. I'll just kind of come up with a song idea in my head, then put it together within Pro Tools and show everybody. Then all the lyric ideas kind of come last, so being without a vocalist wasn't too inhibiting of our process. We want to make sure everybody has a say even on songs that somebody completely writes from start to finish. At the end of the day, we're a five-dude band, not one-dude band."

"The idea behind that is just to keep the creative muscle worked out," Hook explained. "It's just like going to the gym; if you stop for a year, you lose all your strength. It's easy to get lazy and get sort of soft. We're in the business of making music; touring is great, but we should always be prepared and always exercising that creative muscle — in my opinion, anyway."
He added, "It's just like anything: if you come in unprepared you get what you get, but if you do a decent amount of preparation, then at least you have options. The records are the launch pad for everything else, and I want to make the records great. If we need 10 killer songs, I'd rather have 30 songs to pick from than have eight and need two desperately at the end. I don't want to make records in a panic."

According to ITV.com, the Savannah, Georgia-based quartet BARONESS was involved in a serious road accident while between shows on its U.K. tour.
At around 11:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, August 15) at the junction of Brassknocker Hill and the A36 in Bath, the band's tour bus crashed and fell 30 feet over a viaduct.
Seven people were taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath, while two others — who were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment — have been transported to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. "Those people are now being treated by ambulance staff," a fire service spokesman told BBC News.
A Great Western Ambulance Service spokesman said, "Our staff assessed all occupants and provided any required treatment before and while en route to hospital."
Inspector Nick Hunt, from Avon and Somerset Police, added: "Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. At this stage it is too early to tell what the cause was."

SEPULTURA was one of the artists who had the honor of performing at METALLICA's Orion Music + More festival, a two-day event featuring more than 20 bands which took place in late June in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Asked for his impressions of the festival and its prospects for the future, Green said, "It's a very cool idea that [the guys in METALLICA] had, actually. It's pretty much them picking the bands for the festival — literally — hand-picking them, and the bands that they like and they enjoy. Different styles [of acts]; a mix. A lot of things they're into that you could walk around the festival and check out. Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] had a special area with different movies that he's into; Kirk [Hammett, METALLICA guitarist] had an area with his horror collection of scary things and everything; James [Hetfield, METALLICA guitarist/vocalist] with a lot of cars. It kind of felt like you were in their backyard, kind of walking around. And they were announcing that they picked to play the festival. So I think it was a really big success. SEPULTURA last year parted ways with drummer Jean Dolabella and replaced him with Eloy Casagrande (GLÓRIA, ANDRÉ MATOS), a 21-year-old drum prodigy from São Paulo, Brazil who won the Modern Drummer "Undiscovered Drummer" contest as a teenager in 2006. Regarding what it feels like for the other members of SEPULTURA — who are all in their forties now — to share the stage with such a young musician every night, Paulo said, "[Eloy is] a young kid, but he's been [playing] music since he was seven years old. He's handling it like he's been in the band for 20 years. He came in and we played and he fitted very well. When you see him playing with us on stage, you can feel it. The kid is on fire, all the time."
SEPULTURA is touring in support of its 12th studio album, and Nuclear Blast Records debut, "Kairos", which hit stores in July 2011.
SEPULTURA was one of the artists who had the honor of performing at METALLICA's Orion Music + More festival, a two-day event featuring more than 20 bands which took place in late June in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Asked for his impressions of the festival and its prospects for the future, Green said, "It's a very cool idea that [the guys in METALLICA] had, actually. It's pretty much them picking the bands for the festival — literally — hand-picking them, and the bands that they like and they enjoy. Different styles [of acts]; a mix. A lot of things they're into that you could walk around the festival and check out. Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] had a special area with different movies that he's into; Kirk [Hammett, METALLICA guitarist] had an area with his horror collection of scary things and everything; James [Hetfield, METALLICA guitarist/vocalist] with a lot of cars. It kind of felt like you were in their backyard, kind of walking around. And they were announcing that they picked to play the festival. So I think it was a really big success. Just because people were looking for something. They didn't know what to expect."

MY RUIN — the Los Angeles-based band featuring the husband-and-wife rock duo of vocalist Tairrie B. Murphy and multi-instrumentalist Mick Murphy — is back in the studio deep in the hills of Knoxville, Tennessee recording its eighth full-length album. The group is laying down 10 new songs at Soundtrack Black Studio, where last year's "A Southern Revelation" was also recorded, with Joel Stooksbury once again serving as co-producer alongside guitarist Mick Murphy.
"Mick and I wrote the new album at home in L.A. over the last couple of months," says Tairrie.
"We write very quickly and easily together, which comes from our being in a relationship for so long.
"Although Mick has recorded the guitar, bass and drums on our last two albums, we have asked longtime friend and bassist Luciano Ferrea to handle the low-end duties so he is joining us in Tennessee.
"This was the first time in many years that I recorded demo vocals and we did such heavy pre-production on our songs. I usually prefer tracking vocals for the first time in the moment during our actual album sessions and I tend to write many lyrics last minute, but I'm glad to have stepped out of my box because it's allowed all of us to really get to know the songs inside and out and really connect with them beforehand."
She continues, "We're not ready to reveal the title as of yet, although I will say that the new album is made up of nine strong, doom-laden tracks that incorporate our unique blend of screaming and spoken word. It also features a cover of a 1958 blues song originally recorded by the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, which we've had a lot of fun putting our special red lipsticked evil twist on.
"Unlike 'A Southern Revelation', which was and angry and confrontational album, this new one is more introspective and there is an otherworldly ethereal feeling to it. I would describe it as a very sleep-deprived esoteric record.
"I suffer heavily from insomnia and the new album definitely reflects this mood.

Three days after posting a lengthy statement on his Facebook page in which he attempted to explain his reasons for leaving Swedish metallers THE HAUNTED in February of this year, vocalist Peter Dolving has returned with another rant, this time clarifying his reasons for going public with the group's dirty laundry.
Dolving writes: "So regarding my statement on THE HAUNTED; I am not looking for drama. Fuck that. I am not carrying a grudge. I'm simply putting the reality of their actions on the table.
"If I would have continued shutting my mouth about I would just have continued participating in the dysfunctionality. I have chosen not to. I have music, creativity, love and shitloads of really cool fans who are not interested in belittling introverts and trolls on Blabbermouth.
"If you like AT THE GATES, THE HAUNTED and even the twins [THE HAUNTED/AT THE GATES guitarist Anders Björler and bassist Jonas Björler], that's perfectly alright. It good to have something to like.
"No one is taking anything from their artistry; they are skilled and talented. You don't have to take sides. Seriously. I just don't want it to be some deep dark secret. That type of shit wears life out.
"My rage and actual bitterness is perfectly justified. They took food from my table. Anyone who's ever been laid off or screwed will identify.
"Now, on the other hand, if my art, my words, my thoughts provoke you, that just reveals your intolerance. Which is fucking sad, because because it's 2012, and carrying around moral codes and a view on reality as if it 1912, is just, well, really really fucking sad. Really.

He has since appeared on the studio albums "Revolver" (2004), "The Dead Eye" (2006), "Versus" (2008) and "Unseen" (2011).
THE HAUNTED's seventh studio CD, "Unseen", sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The effort landed at position No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Unseen" was released on March 29, 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD was once again recorded with longtime producer Tue Madsen (MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST, SICK OF IT ALL) at his Antfarm Studio in Århus, Denmark.

Tuonela, Tuoni, Manala and Mana are used synonymously. This place is best known for its appearance in the Finnish national epic Kalevala, on which many of our new songs are based. In the 16th poem of Kalevala, Väinämöinen, a shamanistic hero travels to Manala to seek for knowledge about the dead. On the journey he meets the ferrywoman (similar to Charon), a girl, Tuonen tytti, or Tuonen piika (Death's maid), who takes him across the river of Tuoni. However, on the isle of Tuoni he is not given the spells he was originally looking for and he barely manages to escape the place. After his return he curses anyone trying to enter the place alive."
"Manala" marks the recording debut of the band's new fiddler, Tuomas Rounakari.

Rhode Island's THY WILL BE DONE will release a new six-song EP, "Temple", on September 25. The EP was produced and engineered by the band, mixed by acclaimed metal producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris at Planet Z and is the inaugural release on the band's own Eye.On Lion Recordings with INgrooves Fontana handling worldwide distribution.
Eye.On Lion Recordings is a DIY-style record label designed to release new music, merchandise, as well as other media from THY WILL BE DONE. The first single, "You, The Apathy Divine", was officially released through iTunes on June 26 following the band's performance at the Orion Music + More festival, for which they were hand-picked by the festival curators METALLICA.
"Temple" is THY WILL BE DONE's third release following 2009's "In Ancient Of Days" and the 2007 debut, "Was And Is To Come". The "Temple" EP shows the band expanding on their sound that both peers and press have already described as defying metal sub-genres. The first single off the EP, "You, The Apathy Divine", has been climbing steadily on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's weekly Top 12 countdown "The Devil's Dozen". It has been one of the most requested songs since its release.

Eye.On Lion Recordings is a DIY-style record label designed to release new music, merchandise, as well as other media from THY WILL BE DONE. The first single, "You, The Apathy Divine", was officially released through iTunes on June 26 following the band's performance at the Orion Music + More festival, for which they were hand-picked by the festival curators METALLICA.
"Temple" is THY WILL BE DONE's third release following 2009's "In Ancient Of Days" and the 2007 debut, "Was And Is To Come". The "Temple" EP shows the band expanding on their sound that both peers and press have already described as defying metal sub-genres. The first single off the EP, "You, The Apathy Divine", has been climbing steadily on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's weekly Top 12 countdown "The Devil's Dozen". It has been one of the most requested songs since its release.
On deciding to pave their way and start their own label, THY WILL BE DONE's vocalist and co-writer J Costa commented, "As a band, we've always wanted to preserve our expressions as well as the way they reach the listener. It's important for us to have a fan feel, see, and hear the finished piece as closely to the creative source of energy as possible. Eye.On Lion is a way for us to offer our artistic creations to those who choose to support us and by proxy, excludes a lot of 'middle-people'."

According to Bangor Daily News, drummer Mick Brown (TED NUGENT, DOKKEN) pleaded not guilty through his attorney earlier today (Wednesday, August 15) to charges of operating under the influence of intoxicants, driving to endanger, theft and assault.
Brown, 55, was arrested on July 8 after allegedly stealing a gold cart and driving it recklessly while under the influence of alcohol in Bangor, Maine. Several people had attempted to stop him but he sped away and was last seen operating the golf cart on the foot path by the Sea Dog restaurant. Officer Steve Jordan reported that about a minute later he observed the golf cart with two women also on board near the Railroad Street grade crossing. As they attempted to stop Brown, he accelerated past them, past a third officer and when a security officer got close enough to stop him, Brown allegedly shoved the officer. At that point two other security officers physically removed Brown from the cart and placed him on the ground. He was arrested. No damage was reported to the cart although two traffic cones were damaged, one still under the cart, significantly so.
Brown remains free on $4,000 bail. His next court date has not been scheduled, according to the court clerk's office.

Enter Music Publishing's third annual DRUM! Night was quite a hit. The event, a benefit for San Jose, California's Lincoln High, featured diverse drum concerts and clinics by world-respected drummers and local legends. The third annual benefit, which also included a raffle and silent auction, rocked the San Jose Repertory Theater on August 10.
"Enter Music Publishing really has made it a commitment to conduct events like this for the good of music education," said Phil Hood, publisher and co-founder of the company. "Let's face it. These days, high schools need help from the community to keep music in the educational mix. DRUM! Night, without a doubt, was an attempt to demonstrate the power of drumming to high school-age musicians."
Among the highlights of DRUM! Night was the awarding of the second annual BADAAS Award (Bay Area Drummers Achievement Awards) to Paul Bostaph.

New York death metal veterans IMMOLATION recently entered Sound Studios in Millbrook, New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino to record their ninth full-length album. The follow up to 2010's "Majesty And Decay" will once again be mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION).
"Just got out of the studio a couple of days ago, here in Europe now getting ready to do some open air festivals," commented IMMOLATION guitarist Robert Vigna.
"The new album will have 10 tracks of some of the most intensely dark material we have ever written! Very powerful and very heavy. Steve [Shalaty; drums] really pushed it all to the limits on this one, too.
"Paul Orofino got us some of the best sounds we've had yet!
"We were [in Millbrook] for two weeks laying down tracks, having amazing Belgian beers at Paul's in-house bar BarFunGul, as well as plenty of BBQing! Throughout the time we were there, we got through one blackout and dodged a very intense storm system that had the potential to cut our recording session real short. Luckily, everything worked out.
"We still have to add some last touches on to the songs etc., as well as have Zack Ohren mix and master it all, but so far everything is off to a great start.
"Be certain that this new album will surely be one of our strongest yet. We look forward to getting it all finished up soon and getting it out there as soon as possible for the fans!"
