Someone in my Kazooz group wondered if it worked when hummed into.

Apparently I had never actually tried humming into one before I answered.

I found one I had and double checked.
The answer is "YES, sort of"
If you hum a tune into it it does work like a kazoo, But on certain notes the air horn part works and adds some squawks of its own. Could be an interesting comidic touch.

At least the author seemed convinced by George that it was not a membranophone or a mirliton.

Apparently the folks at California Polytechnic are not interested in hearing from us, at least I couldn't find any sort of contact address.
