I knew it wasn't that long ago. Just not sure when, wikipedia informs that he passed away 11 May 2008(aged 54)
At first blush I wasn't that keen on Rush, but once Farewell to Kings was released I became a fan. Been listening off and on over the years. They have a pretty solid catelogue with only a couple of studio albums from the 80's that leaned to heavily on keyboard/synth, that I didn't really 'get'.
Other than that, I can pretty much listen to anything they did way back, or recently.
Extra points for all the live albums they put out!
