some of the simple conical screw-on "punk" spikes might not look too metal out of context:

there seems to be a much wider range of shapes for riveted studs, but you'd have to find some way to fasten them on, e.g. epoxy and a soldered wire from underneath:

I wouldn't be surprised if many of the latter were heavily coated, though...
