This looks very interesting.

I had entertained the thought of doing something similar but into a hammond
style enclosure, for portability.

I'd be nice to see if someone runs with this and creates something closer to
the Alesis version, but DIY. Primarily for the guitar level impedance
matching without using the headphone jack input (which has a tendency to
feedback/squeal).

Perhaps this could be an interesting post to piggyback with
interesting/experimental iOS music apps.
