Thank you Tracy, good tip.
It did occur to me that the seller could get a refund on the tix I am holding.
He seemed like a nice guy (but who doesn't on-line?)
Will ask him to do that and if he refuses, that will tell me what I need to know
:-)

Subject: RE: [u2tour] Validating TicketMaster tix?
TicketMaster will not verify the tics...as I found this out on Saturday. I
personally called them. My concern is because of the postponed dates from last
year, we were given the option to cancel for a refund of the scheduled shows.
However, Ticketmaster did not require that we mail the tics back in as part of
the refund...we just had to provide the order number and credit card used...so
now there are tics out there that have been cancelled and a dishonest person
could resell them as they look legitmate because they are legitimate tickets;
however, that doens't mean they haven't been cancelled. TicketMaster said the
only way to verify is when you show up at the venue the day of the show when the
ticket is scanned!!!
One suggestion tho....I noticed on my Ticket Master personal account, you can
pull your orders and it will show if the ticket has been cancelled or still
active. If you are purchasing from the original buyer and that person purchased
through ticketmaster, I would have them show you the details of the order from
the profile account. They can print this and that would serve as proof.

Subject: [u2tour] Validating TicketMaster tix?
Hi - for the first time, I've bought tix from another U2 fan - face-value, plus
shipping. They are for the Meadowlands show. Is there any way I can validate
their authenticity before I spend 1000s of dollars to travel to the US? There is
no Ticketmaster outlet where I live.
Thanks for any suggestions.
