My Dylan association ran a similar line to you Clint........as a young man I knew of him in his early career, did not particularly follow his music, thinking it was good but ultimately not going to go anywhere. He seemed to attract a following of oddballs, hippies and those who felt the world owed them a living. I was not into any of that crowd and did not want to see be seen liking or following someone who had those kind of followers, but I still held a deep respect for his songwriting talents whilst not being particularly impressed by his vocal talents. Then I heard his "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" and my interest was renewed for a while, but once again my enthusiasm waned untill the album "Blood On The Tracks" was released which I believe is one if not the best Dylan album ever. "BOTT" was quickly followed up with "Desire" with the superb opening track "Hurricane" and the moody poignant "One More Cup Of Coffee" and I became hooked for life, and like you Clint I'm a bigger fan now than I ever was.

I'm probably a bigger fan of Dylan now, than at any time in my past. I always listened to him, and had fun doing so. I jumped on his bandwagon shortly before Slow Train Coming and then picked and chose what older stuff to check out.
I lapsed with him for alot of the 80's, relying on his older work. Then he put out Oh Mercy, which was a huge turning point for me. First off, the album is excellent, secondly, I finally got to see him in concert on this tour. That was the best thing that ever happened to raise his profile in my world.

He definitely has stood the test of time and apparently has even influenced musicians in China.BobK
