I saw him once. Back in the early 90's he played at the local Summer Fair. I wasn't sure what to expect with him, but he put on a good show. I specifically recall him giving some guy grief in the crowd who was filming him. He let the guy tape a couple of songs, then told him to turn it off. It bugged his bifocals by casting some reflection from the lens.

Great Bo Diddley photo. Definitely one of my all time favourites rockers.

Some facts about Bo that some may not know ...

1) he made his own guitars
2) he is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame [duh, why wouldn't he be ?]
3) he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
4) he received a lifetime achievement award at the 1999 Grammy's
5] he appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in '55 but was banned from further appearances because he played the song "Bo Diddley" instead of "16 Tons [Tennessee Ernie Ford song] as requested by show executives.  Its rumoured that Ed Sullivan was so irate over the song switch, that he told Bo that he won't last 6 months ........ well 53 years later, Bo Diddley was still making music so I think Ed Sullivan was wrong.
6) Bo Diddley died in 2008
