this question was asked a lot on the guitar forums when the movie first came out. I dont think White is even in the same league as the other two, but thats just my opinion. I do like some his studio things, but everything I've ever seen or heard live in concert from the guy, is awful... again, my opinion only.
Speculation was that the movie needed somebody younger, to pull in a younger audience.
