Johnny is playing in town tonight. I was planning on going, but similar to
you, I've lost some taste for the fret gymnastics. I can admire it all I
want, but an evening of it just didn't appeal enough in the end. Can't
change my mind now, since it sold out.
Of all crazy concerts that I may find myself at in the near future is Jethro
Tull. At some point over the last decade or so, my devious brother started
supplying my wife with Ian Anderson music. Turns out she quite likes it, and
now that these guys are coming to town she wants to see them (him, no point
in mincing words here ;)

I listened to more of Edgar's stuff.

yeah me too, but thats because Edgar has a much farther reaching musical
landscape, so to speak. Back in the day, I listened to Johnny more, because
he was such a hot-shot blazing guitar player, and thats what I listened to,
trying to build my own chops up.
that sort of thing doesnt interest me as much anymore; now when I listen to
him, yeah, its super fast and awesome, but I hear the same licks over and
over as well.... I suppose we all do that to a degree.
Johnnys in very poor health, I'm sorry I never had a chance to see him
