I read about a live album of theirs yesterday. Something about 2 sides live, then some studio stuff on the other sides.
I liked the longer cuts from my crash course yesterday. The more Countrier sounds were fine, but not really where my head is at, or has been in some years now.

Yeah its a flute. They have a terrific live album, I cant remember what its called, but we dug it back in the day. The lead guitar player was a really talented guy named Toy Caldwell, who picked with the side of this thumb.

Marshall Tucker is one of those bands that I always heard of, but never heard. So, it only seemed logical to check your suggestion out.Currently listening to 'Take the Highway' courtesy of youtube. I'm quite surprised at the style. I was expecting a clone of Lynyrd S, but this is a different sound. Flutes? Works damn fine in there. I'm thinking I may have to check deeper here. Now they must have a fairly deep library, where would a guy find the best place to jump in? Typically the first album, is where I tend to start, but I've been wrong before.Clint...btw, its morning here as well in Regina :)----- Original Message -----From: larrycartaSent: Thursday, December 02, 2010 7:38 AMSubject: [Classic_Rock_Forever] Marshall Tucker BandGood morning everyone, Well, it's morning here in Chicago anyway.
I went to listen to some tunes last night before deciding what I wanted to do as "Cool Album of The Day."
I started listening to some early Marshall Tucker. Not really 'Can't YOu See' but more like 'Take the Highway' and 'This Ol' Cowboy.' Man I forgot how good those guys were. Especially on that double album.
So that's what I went with.

I see they're still out there playing. Toy Caldwell has been gone for 17 years.
BTW, did anyone see the Grammy nominations. They make me want to throw up!
