New Bill Graham Limited Edition Photos In the mid-seventies, Bill Graham presented huge stadium concerts (known as Day on the Green shows) -- extraordinary lineups with incredible spectacle -- and hired photographers to document the shows. From then on, Graham had the best local rock photographers creating what turned into a photo archive encompassing 100,000 images of musical history and virtually every major artist of the period. We've selected eleven of our favorites for a limited edition series. These are also printed in a 16"x16" square and limited to 50 per image. Converted from an old ice skating rink, Winterland's capacity and layout made it ideal for larger concerts in Bill Graham's early days and helped it outlast the smaller Fillmores. Some truly legendary performances took place there between 1966 and 1978 -- listen to this playlist with tracks from ten of our favorite Winterland shows.
No Metal Christmas would be complete without the stomping bombast of Slade. These hairy mirth-makers may have topped the charts with seasonal favorite "Merry Xmas Everybody", but we like 'em at their year-round best in this performance from the Winterland in 1975.
