Music: RE: [u2tour] Rumor: OneRepublic opening in 2011

In seeing U2 I have had to endure (in some cases) the following support acts : PJ Harvey (so rubbish I cant even remember any of it) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (only support slot on the tour and it was the night I was there unfortunately) Interpol (less said the better) The Hours (decent but not memorable) and finally Glasvegas (superb) I try to not get hung up on support acts as its U2 I am there to see and if the support is decent and I've heard of them then all the better. Having Muse open for U2 would have been amazing but they are a stadium headliner in the UK now and bands like Kasabian, Razorlight and Kaiser Chiefs who often support U2 in Europe don't tend to in the UK where their profile is higher.

The Gaslight Anthem would be a good choice to open for U2 next year.

We got Kanye West in Melbourne, Australia.

I can't say I ever liked him and I neither like him less or more since
seeing him live. That being said, it was not very good.

I don't see why support acts play at concerts; I pay to see U2 - not someone
else, especially if they aren't very good.

However at the end of the day I guess U2 may be trying to give other artists
a chance to get a footing in the music world. Let's face it, like them,
they had to start somewhere!

Garbage was supposed to open the Baltimore show in 2001, then they bailed
and we got Graham Parker instead.
