I've been collecting folk metal for some time and yes, Scandinavia has some of the best. I did come across a female death screamer, name is slipping my mind right now. Some good bands to check out are Ancient Bards, Korpiklaani, Faun, Leaves Eyes and Eluveitie. Faun is less hard rock than the others but also great. If you want, I can send some links tomorrow.
